So my family is not catholic but my Fiancé’s is. We are having an outdoor wedding, but my Fiancé still wants to do communion during the ceremony and offer it to everyone. This is making my parents very unhappy and uncomfortable and I also do not want to do it during the ceremony. Most of my guests are from various religious backgrounds and I want everyone to feel welcome. I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don’t know what to do. Thoughts on how to compromise?

You can offer it as an option to those who want to. It doesn’t have to be required. If it’s meaningful to your fiancé I think you should give it a chance.

As a non-Catholic, I wouldn't be in the least uncomfortable. If it's important to him, let him have this.

I like this idea a lot. I come from a Catholic family but my mom and I stopped going to church. When I go with my family, I just stay seating during communion or go up for a blessing but do not take communion. Catholic communion isn't really something that can be offered to everyone because only those who have had a Catholic first communion are technically allowed to partake. Are you being married by a priest? This is always something you could talk over with him, if your FH really wants to have something.

I would consider partaking in communion, just the two of you, either before the ceremony during a first look, or after the ceremony as an act of service as husband and wife.
