Help finding a Ceremony ONLY venue!

Christine, on June 20, 2014 at 4:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I'm at my wit's end; we've booked Nouveau Antique Art Bar for our reception & are scouring Houston for a place to have our ceremony. We don't want a church & I'm hesitant to rely on an outdoors-only venue for the ceremony (I don't trust the weather!).

I was in discussion with 14 Pews but they unprofessionally booked my date after telling me it was available and now they only have their outside area available on our date...

Is 14 Pews seriously the ONLY chapel in Houston?!

Also, has anyone else been frustrated in the search for options in HOUSTON and options in Katy/Spring/Conroe/Galveston keep popping up? UGH. HOUSTON. NOT THE SUBURBS. Smiley sad

I'm so frustrated and will GREATLY appreciate any help!

Did you check WW for venues?

I do not live anywhere near you, so that's as much help as I can give.

Yes, I've scoured through WW but they only allow you search for Ceremony AND Reception venues. I want ceremony only.

^ Indoor ceremony venues within 10 miles of Houston -- you can sort for Ceremony only.

Look at parks, museums, Women's clubs, zoos, galleries, Unitarian churches, greenhouses, wineries, historic sites. I've done weddings in all of them.

Thanks so much for all the advice. We did check with UofH, but they don't do weddings on Fridays Smiley sad

And I'm SO glad someone chimed in about having the ceremony AT art bar because he showed us the options but without hearing that, I wasn't sure how it'd work. Was it an awkward transition while they moved the chairs?

We're thinking about checking at Marmion Park in the Heights and Bethel Church Park closer to downtown for Plan A and Plan B will be at Art Bar.

    Again, thanks so much!

Checked the knot and found. Distance per mapquest.com

The Heights Villa - >5 miles away

The Houstonian Hotel - >7 miles away

    Rainbow Lodge- >4 miles away

Below is the website where I found them. There were plenty of them.

We are getting married at the Sam Houston Hotel. You can book just ceremony there, I think.
