Help!! Florida or Georgia wedding under $5,000!!

Mrs PNW Nugget, on September 25, 2017 at 7:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hi everyone!

We hope to get married 09/01/18 which should be plenty of time but I'm planning the wedding from the other side of the country and having a hard time. We're in WA state but all of our family/friends are in Florida or NY so we'd like to tie the knot in either Florida or GA as its pretty central. Our guest list is 75 people and I'm looking for a rustic/outdoor/woodsy venue. If I could find an all inclusive (food, open bar, photographer, dj, decorations etc.) so that I don't pull my hair out then I'd be willing to spend a bit more money, absolute max is 8K. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! I'm posting this in different locations too because we're pretty flexible with that!

Wouldn't central to Washington/Florida/New York be more along the lines of Kansas and Nebraska? Smiley smile

I can't imagine finding everything you want for $5K, all inclusive. Good luck!

Why did you post this twice? Can you remove one?

You may want to hide the other 4 duplicate posts. You guest list needs to be cut for the $5-$8K pricing.

The average cost of a wedding in Florida is actually pretty expensive from what I have seen. Washington state is much cheaper. You may want to consider staying local to keep your costs down. It will also be more convenient for you to plan.

I don't know how you feel about NC, but the Meadows in Danbury, NC you could do an all inclusive package right around 7K for 120 people. Very woody, outdoorsy, rustic venue.

I spent 9k on a 50 guest wedding in rural NC. I really think that it will be pushing it to have that many guest on that budget. I only spent 500 dollars on my bar and that was by luck only. And my venue was all inclusive minus the flowers, photography, videography, and officiant.

I second @Enchanted. I also live in Florida. My initial rose colored glasses budget was $10k for 100 people. I quickly figured out that it's not going to happen that way. I think cutting the guest list or looking elsewhere will be your best bets. Good luck!

    Thanks everyone!

@Kristin - The 5-8k would be for venue, catering, drinks, dj and photographer.

@Rosered - From very light research, it looked like WA was going to be a lot more expensive. I'm going to look again, it'd definitely be easier!

@Teresa - Anywhere! Since people are going to be traveling no matter where we do it, we're pretty much open on location.

@Brittany - I wouldn't be opposed to NC at all! I'll look into Meadows. Thanks!

Thanks for all your feedback guys, if nothing more it helped give me an idea and put things in perspective Smiley smile

I don't think having a central location is a great idea. What is the point, the NY people will have to fly to either GA or Florida, and the Florida people will have either a long drive or a flight.

OP, you may just have to research, research, research. It can be done, but you will have to do your homework and you may have to prioritize certain things over others (for example, hiring a photographer for only a couple hours versus all day, doing a hosted beer and wine bar only, no hard liquor...that sort of thing).

First thing I'd do though is narrow your geographical area...you're going to have a really hard time getting set on anything especially in your budget if you don't know where you're thinking of having your wedding.

I would suggest looking in NC as well. I live close to Charlotte and I've done a lot of research in the area. Try the Alexander homestead you can get close to that there. Also try the 1812 Hitching post in Harmony NC. Also the Bella crane inn in Fort Mill SC is all inclusive. I was quoted roughly $9k for 80 people. That included food. I think you may be closer to 9k and may have to add a few things here and there.

    FL bride here...

Here'st he only idea I could come up with, and it's not all inclusive so you'd have to do leg work but it's going to be very difficult to find AI for that budget.

Melbourne Civic Center (Right on the water) Holds up to 150 guests, includes tables and chairs ( I attended a wedding there, it's nice), $800

Catering: You can go cheap like BBQ - $1200 (4 Rivers)

    DJ: $800

Bartender: $150, you can buy all your own booze so it will save you money there, so around $500

    Photography: 1500

That will put you right at $5k, but I searched high and low for a $10k budget and that was the most inexpensive scenario I could find, I just went with a different venue

Does any family have large land? We live in the panhadle, and there are a ton of venues in the area. I would see if your family or anyone your family knows, have a peice of land you could use, and them plan from there.

We are booking through Florida gulf beach weddings and we are right at 5,000 for 60 people including wedding and reception

Your date also falls during Labor Day weekend which may make it more difficult/expensive to find vendors.

Because of the heat & humidity, not many couples want an outdoor wedding in FL in September -- especially if it is not on the beach where there is usually a breeze.

There is a community center near me that is a bit over $1,000 and includes tables & chairs. Everything else would need to be brought in.

Raw ground will cost a small fortune for tent, restroom trailers, catering, etc. A building is usually less expensive overall.

I agree with @Enchanted. I live in FL and was trying to plan a wedding for under $8k total. Unless you use friendors, there's no way to have a nice wedding for that amount. We're set on spending about $10k but that's only because we're having a Sunday wedding. ETA: Just wanted to add, we've invited 102 people but are expecting 72

Just wanted to give you guys an update! After a ridiculous amount of messages it looks like Bridlewood Ranch in Clermont can do pretty much absolutely everything including cake and flowers, which I wasn't even considering in my 8K, for just shy of the 8!!! Very excited! We'll be down in Florida in November and have planned on doing a site visit and food tasting then. You ladies have been awesome!
