Help! Hair up or down??

Grace, on November 9, 2020 at 10:28 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 14
What do you ladies think would go best with this dress style hair up or down?? I’m getting married in January if that makes any difference.

Your opinions are appreciated. This is my dress but from the website photos.
Thank you! Smiley smileHelp! Hair up or down?? 1Help! Hair up or down?? 2

Whichever you are most comfortable with. Comfort and formality always trump the dress style as far as your hairstyle.

I would do an updo so you can see the gorgeous details on the back!

I recommend an updo rather than hair down.

Hair up or down would both look beautiful. I personally didn't want my hair completely down for my wedding because 1) that's how I style it most of the time for fancy events, 2) I didn't want to be pulling it out my face constantly, especially when dancing and eating, and thought it might get hot when dancing, and 3) I did want to show off the back of my dress a bit.

We had a Covid elopement so I ended up doing a half-up, half-down look to "save" the updo (low, loose, soft textured side bun) for my wedding, but now I don't know if/when we are having a wedding so time will tell.

I'd go with an updo so you can see the pretty neckline and the back of the dress as well! Smiley love

Wow, there is a lot of beautiful detail on this dress! It's always up to what you feel most comfortable with, but I personally feel like an updo would help keep some of the attention on the dress while sometimes a down do can take away from it. Do you have picture example of what you're thinking about for each type of hairstyle?

I love your dress it's very wintery and pretty, I would say half up and half down I know that doesn't help but I think it would look the prettiest

I think it's best to choose a hairstyle based on your facial features and hair type rather than your dress. For example, I'm staying away from a full up-do because my ears stick out quite a bit and I have a high forehead, so I opted for a half up/half down style with wispy tendrils around my face. That will keep most of my hair pulled back so it's not falling in my face all day, but still leave enough hair down to disguise my ears and forehead.
