Help! Honeymoon suggestions for couples under 21!?

Samantha, on January 8, 2019 at 10:33 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15
Hello! My fiancé and I are running into a very unusual problem. I guess there are a lot of hotels that will not let you book unless you’re 21? I’ve booked a hotel in Kentucky to see my mom when I was 19 so I didn’t think this would be an issue. My fiancé and I are 20 years old and we really wanted to go on a small honeymoon. We live in Ohio and we definitely want to go out of state if possible. We aren’t able to go out of the country, sadly.
If anyone can provide hotels that they know for sure let you book if you’re under the age of 21, I will be forever grateful! Thank you so much in advance ❤️

I would try Miami Florida. I remember booking hotels by the beach and downtown area when I was your age. I say give it a try!

FWIW, when my son used to go to gaming conventions (when he wasn't even 18), they let him stay so long as I acted as a guarantor. (Basically, I was on the hook if he trashed the room.) Is there any chance you could find someone over 21 willing to do that?

Hi Samantha! Building on to what Chandra said, I know that you can book and check into AirBnb's at the age of 18, so that can always be an option as well! Depending on the location, I know that Hilton hotels sometimes allow you to be 18 to check in as well!

I have never heard of this! I live in Texas and have booked quite a few when I was under 21. Have you looked in the Texas area?

I think in most cities you'll be able to find hotels that book to under 21, you'll just have to seek out those hotels. Maybe spring break type locations? Miami? San Diego?

Carnival Cruise Line allows married couples under 21. They cruise to many places including the states of Hawaii and Alaska. If a cruise is an option I highly recommend Carnival. The food is amazing and it's a lot of fun. The food is some of the best I have ever ate. They are called the fun ship and live up to it. If you decide to cruise if you go roundtrip from a US port you will need yours and FH birth certificate to present during the embarkation process unless you have passports. If you are changing your last name and honeymooning right after the wedding use your maiden name when booking and at the port to avoid issues. Also you may need proof of marriage in order to board so best to take a copy of your marriage certificate.

I have stayed in hotels when I was under 20 but it was difficult to find them and I had to present my drivers license which I have not had to do since I turned 21. Some in Nashville, TN and Myrtle Beach will allow you to book if you are under 21. It seems like hotels vary in their policy's sometimes even if they are the same chain and they decide the age requirements at their distiction. I have heard that Omni Hotels and Resorts allow you to book as long as you are 18 as well as Holiday Inn. Some Best Westerns will depending on the location and some of the Best Westerns are nice. Hope this helps.

Another thing about cruises, some do not require a passport! So look into that, you may enjoy the sights and relaxation!

If you're looking for a beach honeymoon, I know there are a bunch of rental houses along the New Jersey/Delaware beaches that will allow you to sign a weekly rental agreement when you're 20. I think we just had to pay an extra fee that was given back to us once we left and hadn't wrecked the house.

I used VRBO for all of my college beach vacation rentals. A lot of them had 25+ age requirements but there were a few that said *exceptions made for married couples* or something along those lines in fine print! I would definitely check out renting directly from a person so that you can explain your situation better! They might be more willing to bend the rules than a hotel that has strict regulations.
