Help! i can’t find a venue!

Meghan, on February 25, 2019 at 4:35 AM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 1 12
I’m going crazy! I have spent the last 4 months looking for a venue and I’ve found nothing. My fiancé and I are looking to get married outside in the fall around the Lancaster/chadds ford/Pottstown/philly areas. We’re looking for something historical but no golf course or hotel/ballroom (bed and breakfasts are ok). We we’re looking to spend around 15,000 for the wedding since we’re inviting about 60 people. If you have any recommendations they would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Meghan! Welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley ring I'm sorry you're having so much trouble finding a venue! If you haven't already, I would take a look through the WeddingWire vendor directory. It's got a bunch of venues, most of which have reviews from newlyweds who used them. I'll link to it below.

    Historic venues in Lancaster area

You could also look at the museum and garden venues, those might give you the feel that you're going for as well.

Have you looked at Moonstone Manor? It looks stunning!

Also, check out www.painns.com. That will give you a list of PA B&Bs that allow weddings! Olde Square Inn looks to be in the area you are looking at and has packages for smaller weddings.

Hey Meghan! Congratulations on your engagement! I am currently in the process of planning my wedding and wr fiund the most amazing location in Wyncote (right outside of Philadelphia) It is the Curtis Arboretum, also known as Curtis Hall. Before I tell you about how amazing they have been so far I do need to tell you they are currently finishing up on some major renovations they have done on the property so googling it will not really give you a good idea of what the place is. It truly is something you need to see in person. I booked my wedding with them before tgey were evn done renovations because we could see from the blue prints and pictures they had this was going to be an amazing venue and we really wanted to be one of the first ones married there! They use JAM Catering (Jeffree A Miller) which is an amazing company who uses fresh local grown ingredients, nothing is ever frozen and it is all prepared right on side the day of your wedding. Our wedding coordinator Laura has been amazing at answering all my questions and they are very accommodating with requests. Another great thing about this venue is that it use to be an olf mansion and the old "Music Room" is now the dancing hall, attatched to the music hall is the dinner tent so your guests arent all stuck on one room the whole night. It really gives you and your guests the best chance to mingle and enjoy the night! I am mostly looking forward to getting married in the Arboretum under the gorgeous wisteria roof. Cocktail hour is outside as well on their 3 level stone patios that lead into a grass area where you are able tonhave lawn games/ fire pit. I am telling you this is a hidden gem! You need to book an appointment to see this place in person!

We're getting married in September in Bethlehem at Burnside Plantation. (I can't even remember how I found it, it was by chance)

We live outside of Reading and some family live outside of Philly so it's about equal distance for all of us.

Here are some pictures I found of events there.

I live in Allentown. I was looking for barn weddings until I decided to go out of season and have a November wedding. I came across this barn in Quakertown that is supper cute and rustic. http://www.meyersfarmbakery.com Its called The Farm Bakery and Events. Found the pictures on google. They have more photos than on the website. Happy hunting.

You will find something!! Look into Jeffery A Miller Catering! They cater a bunch of venues in and around the Philadelphia area. Their food is incredible and fresh. They have so many options so you really can tailor it to exactly what you need/you’re looking for! MOYO specifically might be something you’d be interested in. Good luck!!

Hi! Look into JAM Catering - they have a few venues in the area you are looking at. Pretty much all of their venues are historical and so charming, so I'm sure you will be able to find something. Their food is amazing, farm to table and so unique and in my experience, you get a lot for what you pay for! I booked Waterloo Village for my wedding - I am from NJ - but my personal favorites (judging by pictures) out of the PA ones are MOYO, Welkinweir Estate, and Tyler Arboretum.

Have you checked out Alide Mansion?

It's a great historic venue that has a very unique look/feel too it. For 60 people you'll have more than enough room and can get married outdoors. Aldie is also managed by JAM Catering and have some others have mentioned, their food is great! We did our tasting the other day and it was outstanding. The menu is seasonal, so I'm not sure what would be on your menu, but it's 100% worth checking out more.

PARQUE Ridley Creek and the Drumore Estate are both great, as is Pen Ryn Estate/Belle Voir Mansion (two venues on the same location). They will likely be within or even under your budget given your guest list.
