Help! I need grand finale ideas!

Bride2B2017, on July 19, 2017 at 8:14 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

So my wedding planner just informed me we can NOT have sparklers at our grand finale (exit from reception). I am so bummed! I was really looking forward to seeing that in photos and in the video. Does anyone have any creative ideas? I thought of glow sticks, and witnessed people throwing paper airplanes at the bride and groom and it looked terrifying!!! Please help!

Im not doing one. Are you doing it just for pictures and then going back into the reception to finish the party or you really leaving?

We didn't do one either but we wanted bubbles. We winged the exit picture bc we were exhausted and most guests left.

I've seen some cute pictures with craft pom poms. We're going to do something like that as walk back down the aisle together, rather than as we leave the reception because we want to stay until the end.

Our reception has to end at 10pm and it's on an island so no one will be "leaving".

I'm in the same boat as @Unaware. We are skipping the send off but might do something cute with sparklers for our engagement session. FH really liked how it looked in photos when done right.

I really wanted to do sparklers, but my venue doesn't allow them. Not sure if we'll be doing anything, but if we do I'm thinking of probably bubbles.

Yea, I'm not into the whole grand exit thing. I'm not doing anything but partying until the last minute then hopping in an Uber and heading to the after party at our home.

We are doing bubbles walking out at the ceremony. It will be early evening and I think it will be cute pics. We've considered doing a late night outdoor exit pic w the glow sticks but aren't sure.

We just went to a wedding that had a glow stick sendoff. All the guys were drunk and basically whipped the crap out of the groom with them. I guess you have to know your crowd lol

Are you really going to be leaving and not seeing anyone after the "grand exit"? All the exits I've seen were just for show and it was awkward and weird to be told to line up just to have the bride and groom join everyone a minute later. We knew we'd be going to the bar downstairs after the reception so we skipped the exit. We did get this awesome photo of all the people who stuck around to the very end.

Meh. Go to your bed. LOL

We didn't do one and I wasn't sad about it. I just got our wedding video too, and it wasn't missed.

No, you don't need any ideas. Just let it go. Using tired, sometimes drunken guests for dramatic exit props isn't necessary.

Maybe try sprinkles or a balloon release in the colors of the wedding?

Our venue doesn't allow sparklers either, so we're going with fiber optic wands. Hoping for a similar effect.
