Help: i want to wear my hair down, but then how do i use a veil?

Lisa, on April 6, 2020 at 9:12 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11

Hi all, I'm throwing a sort of non-traditional wedding - there won't be a bridal party and there's definitely less glitz than other weddings I've been to. I really want to wear my hair down and curled, like this. I've never liked updos and wearing my hair down would make me feel more like myself. What would you guys recommend for a veil?

I would get like a clip in veil similar to this photo.

Search on etsy, davids bridal, etc. for veils with a comb or snap hair clip for extra support instead of just plain veils that have nothing (that are more of a sheet. You can also add in bobby pins to a veil that has a haircomb or other types of hair pins to help keep secure. And I'd also tease the area before placing the veil to help it stay! I'm sure you can youtube videos or google something and find a blog post that will help!

Maybe do more of a band so it's secure or a clip that fastens to you hair. Might have to do a little teasing in the spot you want to place the veil if you use a clip.

I bought cheap clip in extensions off Amazon for my veil comb to dig into. Works awesome. Maybe a thought?

I wore my hair down with my veil. It had a built-in comb. I have fairly thick hair so I didn’t think I needed extensions, but kinda wish I did for more volume!

Wow you are absolutely stunning! That's what I'm worried about, I have pretty thin hair and I'm worried it will fall, but you make it look effortless

Lol my bad. Yeah hair. Its remy and curls beautifully. Adds so much volume to my thin hair. (Didn't buy for length). The comb of the veil feels so secure and its positioned perfectly. 100 dollars well worth it!

Awww staaaahp it! But thank you— you’re too sweet. Smiley smile

It rained my wedding day so my hair was going flat and I didn’t have my hairstylist stay on for touch up
Honestly, do the extensions if you can— especially if you want more ooomph in your hair that day and you’re worried about weather or anything else messing with it. If you look at my hair from the morning of compared to the actually ceremony/reception, you can tell it went flat. Haha
