Is it tacky to use nice plastic plates/silverware at my daughters wedding but still use regular glassware? My caterer says it is.But I want to buy nice sturdy plates/silverware for food service and buy stemless wine glasses (not plastic) from ikea to serve wine, sangria, champagne, etc.Thoughts?? ...

There is really nice plasticware out there that looks fancy and doesn't cost much. It's just something to put the food on... just make sure the food is delicious. No reason to spend in this area of the wedding and the caterer works for you, therefore, they should go with your vision. The caterer probably wants to charge you extra for the glassware now that's tacky. Best of luck.

Our reception is in a barn. We’re honestly thinking of cheap either plastic or ceramic plates and some glasses but probably just offering beer in the can. Everyone coming is close family/ friends and we know they won’t care at all

I think disposables are tacky in general. Weddings are so wasteful, and all that plastic cutlery is going to sit in a landfill or clog our oceans. If you are going the single use route, at least get something compostable.

Does your caterer not have the option for you to rent proper china, silverware, and glassware? Typically the rental cost isn't much more than buying cheap plastic alternatives and it will elevate your event and is better for the environment.

I Love This! This Is Similar To The Look I'm Going For. I Can't Find Any Disposable Blue Hobnail Glasses So I Was Planning To Rent Them From A Rental Company. If You Don't Mind Me Asking, Where Did You Get The Hand Sanitizers From?
