Help! It's a wedding, not a pool party

I am getting married end of June in my parents beautiful yard. It is actually my dream wedding location, but I have discovered one tiny problem. They have an in-ground pool. I am looking for creative ideas to not only dress it up, but also to deter anyone from wanting to take a dip. It is in a gate area, but I'd like to go the extra step to make sure it's clear that it's off limits. It's a wedding after all, not a pool party.

I found some cute Pinterest ideas, floating flower arrangements, or event creating a sort of flower and candle barrier, but was hoping someone here might have an even more genius idea.

Also, I should note that we are DIYing more of the florals and decor, and I am crafty so don't hold back!

thanks in advance

We’ve talked about later in the evening, once the fire pit and going and such, I’m not opposed to it at all! And these photos are awesome.

My concern is that it’s already a pretty casual wedding, so I’d love for us to get the wedding reception out of the way before it becomes a pool party! And for the few kids who are invited, i don’t want their parents to be stuck by the pool the entire time.
This is great party ender idea!

Oh I don't blame you one bit! Honestly, if it were me I probably would go on as if you weren't getting in the pool at all! By the end of the night, you probably won't be as worried about it since the reception will be coming to an end and it would be more of a surprise thing - which may be so fun. I definitely see where you're coming from, I wouldn't want to have parents watching over their swimming kids during your wedding. Valid point!
