Help me pick an invitation!

I got delayed in ordering invitations because of a few things but now I’ve gotten around to it, I’m torn as to which to pick!!

Our florals match that in the coloured invitations, but I think the gold and black invitations look so elegant and crisp. Particularly as our wedding is a lavish black tie affair in a Victorian ballroom.

Thoughts? Should I go with stationery that matches our florals/colour scheme or black/gold?

I think I've seen you mention your reception is a true black tie event, and I think the second invitation fits that level of formality much better. Especially if you could add some foiling on there somewhere! The first one is very pretty, but very run of the mill to me.

I agree with Stacey - to me, the second one seems to represent more of a black tie level of formality, so if you're still planning on that, I would probably choose the second one. I do like the flowers on the first option though!

I think it really depends on the vibe of your wedding and your colors. The first reminds me ones I have received for a rustic style wedding whereas the second seems more upscale. I personally don't like gold, but if gold is one of your colors that would work well.

I think so too! I originally fell in love with the floral design since it perfectly matches our florals but the gold embossed invitation is so elegant!

Gold is not necessarily part of our colour scheme but our centrepieces (large burgundy and pink arrangements) will be mounted on gold candelabras, and the venue is a Victorian ballroom with lots of ornate gold detailing in the ceiling with big gold chandeliers

I think gold would totally be fine then.

Another vote for the 2nd option!

To me it's more formal and speaks for itself, compared to the first option that seems more busy with the floral design and colors.

I agree with everyone, the second one is definitely a better option to go for if you're looking for something that's simple yet elegant to fit the black tie theme.

Alright folks we are doing the second (black and gold!). I have gold wax seals which we will use to secure a black silk ribbon ‘belly band’ around the invitations so I am sure it will look darling!
