    The 20th as in yesterday?

Are you wanting a big wedding? If so, know that it will be very difficult to plan a big wedding ceremony and reception in 5 months. Especially considering many venues and vendors are booked out through 2021 due to 2020 Covid brides having to reschedule for 2021.

The task list here on WW and on The Knot are very helpful to keep yourself on track. However, I would quickly start looking for, and book a venue!

    First figure out a date.
    Then determine a budget.

    Make a guest list.
    Pick a venue
If you’re doing a bridal party I’d suggest waiting until like 3 months into planning to ask ppl.
    Find a dress.
    Send out save the dates.
    The rest will come naturally

    Congratulations on your engagement!!

The first things I recommend doing are discussing budget and estimated guest count with your fiance. Figure out what you both envision for a wedding. From there, look for venues that are in your budget and that can hold at least the number of guests you plan to invite. Then, look for any vendors (photographer, DJ, florist, etc) that you would like to book. Compare at least 3 options for each, and meet with them to get an idea of what packages they offer, and whether they include everything you'd like.

A great tool to use for planning is the checklist, either here on Wedding Wire or the checklist on The Knot! You input your wedding date, and it'll generate a checklist with tasks for each month to help keep you on track with wedding planning. You can also always post on these forums to ask for advice, show pictures from your planning progress, etc. Happy wedding planning!

I bought a book called the Budget Savy Wedding Planner & Organizer. I really like the timelines (12 months or 6 months) and a lot of the tips and charts for comparing vendors and other options are great. You could use the 6 month timeline and just focus on the fist month's tasks ASAP. help me please 1
The beginning steps are to determine: budget, guest list, wedding date, vendors.

Good luck!!! It will be a stressful 5 months

Do you have your guest list and venue/vendors in stone? Take advantage of the free wedding planning spreadsheet packet on GoogleSheets which is better laid out a store bought planner and you can access from your phone or print out int a 3 ring binder that you also store contracts/receipts, paint chips for colors, fabric swatches, etc

Piece of advice I forgot to give: find your wedding squad (or task force, whatever you want to call it). Close family members or friends you know are supportive of your relationship and who you trust to give you good advice. Make sure they are on board to help with planning a wedding before dumping things on them. I have a close friend who outright said, "you can talk to me about your wedding plans anytime you like" since she just likes weddings and planning things in general.

Try to avoid involving people who do not support your relationship with your fiancé, even if you are very close to them. The last thing you need is someone adding doubt and negativity to your thoughts when you are already stressed.

The biggest thing you’re going to want to do is set a budget. Then start researching vendors in your area and see how they fit into your budget. You mentioned getting married on a friend’s property. You’ll need tables and chairs, a tent, heaters or fans depending on what the weather is like where you live in September, bathroom trailers if you have a big guest list.
