Help me Please!!

Carrie, on February 28, 2021 at 7:12 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
I’m getting married in 3 weeks! The date we were suppose to get married was 3/20/2020 (last year) now we are 3/20/2021. The wedding was canceled the week of so I had everything for the day and all paid for. Should I keep my guest sign 2020 or try and find a stencil, sand it and do the new year? I can’t decide Help me Please!! 1

Do you think your guests would notice that it doesn’t say 2021? Is this something that is going to be used in pictures? If not then I wouldn’t worry about it too much! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Thank you! It won’t be in pictures! Just on my living room wall after. My favors say 2020 too. Everything was literally all done when it got cancelled last year. I didn’t get new favors

I wouldn’t get new favors either! I’m sure most people won’t notice the date, and it won’t matter to them it’s wrong. I’m sure people understand!

Oh I feel ya! I had so many things with our original date on it. Champagne flutes, signs, favor tags etc... and I’m struggling with what to replace and what to say “whatever “ too. I did scrape the old stencil off of our wood welcome sign so far. If it’s easy enough to do I’d change. After all it’s your new special day and if it’s something your going to keep as a momento I’d change it.

Thanks! I’m sure many are in the same boat. I didn’t get new favors but I added something small to it. The sign is what is getting me. I feel I should change it but it was made for me so not sure how easy it will be to find the same style stencil and stain if I need it

I left my old dates on everything. It’s just a part of our story.

The only thing I changed was the invitations/inserts.

We had a custom welcome sign with our old date on it and favors as well. We ended up keeping them and I did have an identical one made with the new date for the reception (we kept the old one for ceremony and still displayed it). Like Rebelle mentioned, my husband said “hey everyone knows what we went through and it’s a part of our journey”. If you don’t have time, don’t sweat it, but one quick fix is having a floral vase off to the side where the petals cover the last digit 😉🌸🌿

You could use a marker and scratch out the last “0” of 2020 and add a “1”and a smiley or something

It could be a cute conversation starter to Mark it out and purposely put a 1 next to it and maybe even a little mask to show “covid” like it was delayed? Just a cute idea!

The ideas to visibly change it/cross it out are cute, but I would definitely change it if it was me! You said it was going to go in your living room and I get the whole "its apart of your story" thing, but in my opinion, its not the day you got married. If I attended the wedding, I wouldn't care either way! But me personally, I would want it changed. If it was mine, I would probably change it to where you didn't know it ever said 2020 because I like everything clean and sleek.
