HELP!! My fiancé keeps inviting more & more people to our wedding!!!

We have limited space and we are at 156 people, buffet, which is what can be accommodated in the main hall. We also have another nice sized room at the venue for cocktail hour. We had been looking for a larger place but everywhere is taken. We both had our list & everything was great until every couple of days he has sent out more invites. More people in his cultural community have heard about it & he told them about the limit but doesn't want to have problems with his friends. A lot of his family are in another country & can't come so I have some sympathy, but, I have told him he shouldn't keep inviting people, I have put my foot down & hid the invitations. We have a great 4yr relationship & respect is there but this is so frustrating. I'm thinking about this & it is bothering me more than him. We are still getting RSVP's now, I still plan to decorate the tables & chairs for 156 people & have those people called first for dinner....don't know how the rest will work out.

I'm glad you hid the invitations -- now just pray that he doesn't start issuing verbal invitations. If your venue accommodates 156, that's the limit they're going to allow. If you go over that limit, I'm not sure what would happen, but if your RSVPs show that you are going to have an overage, get in touch with the venue immediately to find out if they can accommodate some guests in the cocktail area (not the best solution, but better than turning them away).

On the RSVP's I made sure to place the #of reserved seats. Thankfully those additional people will not be bringing kids. We will have a buffet and he said they will be guys that may come late into the reception. I have to remember everyone won't stay that late. If I couldn't have my family from my country come to my wedding I would want my partner to be understanding too. Well yes, I have considered adding some tables there as temp if needed....but I don't want to think about it lol! Thanks

Not everyone will come hopefully it will all work itself out with the extra people!
