Help! My wedding dress is puckering. What to do?

Cynthia, on April 29, 2018 at 2:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I tried my dress on today and I love it except for the fact that it puckers underneath my breasts. I tried adjusting the dress by pulling it up higher or lower but I still get some amount of puckering. Any thoughts on why it’s doing this or what can be done to fix it?

I would talk to the seamstress/tailor that your having do alterations. It might be an issue with the bra your wearing, or it might be better something taking the dress in/out a little would fix.

That's something your alterations person should be able to fix.

Mine did this too and it turned out it needed to be let out. My dress is mermaid and it was doing it right at my hip area

Mine does this too. I’m hoping a bustier/better undergarments would help or tightening the laces more at the top. I’m my case I think the person putting my dress on me last time didn’t tighten it enough in the back so it lost some of its structure there. I asked the seamstress about adding some more boning/structure to the dress and she said it couldn’t be done. 😔

Mine did that, just a little lower, at my final fitting. Seamstress said it was an easy fix. She said the stays (not sure what that is & I'm pretty sure that was the word) had to be taken out. She said it's simple to do. I go this Wednesday to try it on again & bring it home.

    That is my dress too!

I have seen some BAMs that show that in our exact dress and I really hate it too. I pointed it out to my seamstress and I think she fixed it. She's sewing in one of my own push up bras to keep the my breasts supported and then taking it in at the sides of the bust.

I'll see for sure on Tuesday. This is dress fitting #2 with an added swoop sleeve (only pinned on so it looks a bit messy) with matching lace.
