How many guests ? And does this include dress and accessories. Or just food and beverage. Cost all depends on your guest list. More guests, more money. Where are you located? Use the vendor tab on the website or wedding spot website to send quotes to venues and see what’s in your range. Try local elks lodges and parks and inquire.

Sometimes all inclusive places can be cheaper. It really depends where you live too. Cheap venues though can include community centers, park buildings/pavilions, private lodges like Elks/Moose/Knights of Columbus, fire halls. Just keep in mind if you want something approaching a traditional wedding set up..,you’ll have to take care of everything else. So check out places that are all inclusive—restaurants with banquet facilities/private rooms, some hotels, and some caterers have their own facilities.

Definitely look at local parks now if you want a summer wedding. We looked at catering through our favorite restaurants too and it was more affordable, but definitely keep the guest list down or do a potluck! Ive been to a few potluck weddings and they were super fun to try each family's side tastes

Figure out your guest list first. If you are having 50 people 5000 is easy, 200, not so much.

So much depends on guest list and location. Easiest way to reduce costs is to limit the guest list.

The biggest cost will probably be food and drink, rather than the venue, so make sure that whatever place you choose allows you to choose an affordable caterer. Keeping the guest list small will help as well and you may find you have more money available to go toward a venue you love.

I would look into a park or a firehall of some sort. The only way to really keep cost down is to keep the guest list down. I noticed a PP said potluck - this is not the way to go. Good luck!

Look to breweries or restaurants for ceremony and reception. How many people are on your possible guest list? Many people discount them but look into KC Halls, VFW's and Legions. Some look like 1982, agreed, but my first wedding reception was in a remodeled one with gorgeous wooden arched beams and new floors.

Your wedding in November so I assume you'll be indoors? Where are you, geography wise?

Some people may suggest potlucks or self catering as a way to save money - please don't ask your guests to cook, bring food or work on your wedding day. It is a huge liability and puts you at risk for people getting sick.

Discuss what you really want: for most folks it is good food and drink, comfy chairs and a nice atmosphere. Don't fret over programs, favors, and anything cutesy that your guests really don't care about. We hosted 42 people for under $3000 - you can too.

We are having ours at a camp in our area. It’s super cheap. The ceremony site is an outdoor chapel and is $50. The reception site is a pavilion that comes with nicer picnic tables and has a really nice view as well as an open field for games.

Oh and the pavilion is $150 ... it would be $75 but we opted for exclusive use of the “upper camp” so no one else can use this area. There are cabins and lodges. We also rented those for an additional fee.

Im getting married on a carnival cruise in San Juan, PR for about 4,000 for 50 people. Its a little untraditional, but I am super excited none the less. It includes everything except videography and hair/makeup/nails, and you have to purchase the pictures separately. So we will probably spend about 5,000 on our wedding. Its a good option if you want to go on your honeymoon straight after. Your guests do not have to take the cruise with you in order to witness your wedding and celebrate. The only thing is that they only give you an hour for the reception. Which FH and I are fine with, but that could be a deal breaker for some.

We are having our wedding at the local park with just immediate family. We were going to then just take everyone to dinner at a nice restaurant then send wedding announcements but a new venue just opened up near us with an excellent cost. Is a private wedding and fancy dinner something you have considered OP?
