Help!!!! Need help with covering ugly lights!!!

Michelle, on May 1, 2017 at 2:32 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I had to settle for rustic banquet hall when I really wanted elegant. I have a few ideas to hide the walls, but I'm stumped on these ugly lights. I need something that will hang down roughly 16" from the light. My wedding colors are black, white with a touch of shimmery. Can anyone help me with converting this from rustic to elegant? I'm on a small budget, so budget friendly ideas are wanted. I have added a photo of what im working with. Thanks guys for your help!!

I would talk with the facility, lights like that produce a lot of heat and some things could catch fire.

I would leave them off and not worry about them. They are high enough up in the rafters to be ignored.

I would get 2 wide strips of light weight white fabric and drape it from one end of the venue to the other, feeding it through the beams. Let the beams hold the fabric up and let the fabric cascade a little bit between the beams. Boom! Done!

By the way, I think the venue is super cool and chic.

I'd leave them off and do candlelight on the tables and low up-lighting (from the ground) and leaves the light fixtures alone. If you really want to cover and have the money, white ceiling draping is pretty, but pricey.

If leaving them off, you can drape fabric across beams to hide.

I think that is a super cute location, I wouldn't try to cover it up! Plus covering lights sounds dangerous...

Leave them alone. Nobody else will care, and anything used to "hide" a feature is just going to draw more attention to that feature 99% of the time.

Embrace the rustic. Smiley smile Look on Pinterest for rustic glam weddings.

I wouldn't cover up those lights...for the heat issues mentioned. But you could probably find/rent some cute chandeliers to draw attention away from them like in these fab photos.

As a PP said, dont turn them off and no one is likely to notice them, especially if you drape fabric like the above picture Smiley smile

I love the venue- I'd not worry about them too much- play up the rustic/ I like the pp idea with weaving the fabric over the beams- and be sure to find out if they get hot!

Oh girl that venue is gorgeous. I would have loved to have found rafters like that.

You're going to have a beautiful wedding!

Love your venue and think the lights fit it. I wouldn't notice them as a guest.
