I bought these blank place card from Michael's and now I'm trying to figure out what's next....I tried to create labels on WORD so I can print it out at Fedex/kinkos on a sticker (paper) to place them on the place cards, but idk....is there a better way?

Well, it's expensive, but our calligrapher is doing our escort cards. It just looks so darn nice!

Avery makes escort cards that are perforated (or not) that you can just put right into your printer and print directly on. We did this for my brother's wedding and saved a ton! Also, there are clear Avery labels that you can do the same for, instead of using a printing company; it may save you some money.

I am doing the printing myself with a nice font and on the Avery clear labels...what is nice is my computer has all the settings to print for the labels so it is pretty simple.

I designed my own on Publisher to go with our travel/vintage postcard theme. I'll buy small card tents to print them myself.

We purchased a photo off of stockphoto and copied it into word. We then created text boxes with a clear background to type the names within the photos. We are going to buy cardstock and print them through our own printer (9 to a page) then cut them using a table cutter. Good luck!! =)

I made mine using heavy cardstock and my computer, it was really easy too.

Michaels and such sell the perforated ones- they should come with a template I would think. Otherwise, as much of a bitch as it would be, you could use Paint/Photoshop/Illustrator to recreate the layout measurements and print them that way?

I think you should use the ones you have. Why not trim top and bottom with ribbon or diamond mesh or lace> You could stamp them with a ink stamp set or use stickers, and just hand write the names and table number in a beautiful gold or silver marker or other marker from a store that specializes in paper products (you may find something in Staples). You could also attach to a favor or a cute "diddy" that is related to your wedding.

I love all the ones that are pictured! You guys are so creative! We got ours at Staples and are just printing them from a template. So easy. Smiley smile

Have you ever heard of this thingy called a "Cricket"? It's a paper cutting machine that has all kinds of shapes, even placecard shapes and sizes. If you are looking for an in expensive way to make placecards, you could look into getting the type of paper you want them on, print out the names, and then use the "Cricket" machine to do the cutting smoothly and delicately. Just a suggestion :-)
