HELP!! Plates for a BBQ Wedding

Hillary, on March 24, 2017 at 9:39 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

I am confused and conflicted on the place settings for my wedding. We decided to go with a BBQ caterer since the wedding is labor day weekend, but our theme is Alice in Wonderland. I've always envisioned using mixed china plates but it seems a little weird with BBQ. I have some people telling me to use heavy duty plastic plates, and others suggesting I use plain porcelain plates. I need advice, suggestions, help, everything and anything you can think of to help me make a decision! TIA Smiley smile

So is your reception indoors or outdoors, if its outdoors whats the scenery like? I am not a big fan of themed weddings, but that is only my opinion. I honestly don't think it would be any odder to have mixed china than it would be to have BBQ in wonderland. So if mixed china is what you want go for it. I would only be cautious if its outdoors of breaking plates.

Please don't use heavy duty plastic; I find that to be really tacky at a wedding (just my opinion). I would just use white porcelain dinnerware.

Check out smarty had a party. Here are some of my options. I like them cuz they still look real.

You could also go with the clear plastic ones, you can get them really cheap at Sam's Club

Outdoor ceremony, tented reception, and both have a garden feel

I think with the outdoor reception and a garden feel the mixed china would go with your theme and look really nice regardless of the food being served.
