HELP!!! Reception at church..no champagne toast???

Mrs.G Norwood 2be, on November 12, 2011 at 1:38 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hello!! this is my first ever post on Wedding Wire!! So ladies and Gents I have a question...my wedding is at a church in Fayetteville NC. To "help out" my in laws want us to have our reception at there church "multi purpose" center. Its not connected to the church but it is church property. My thing is I want to have a champane toast and maybe a little more sips during th reception and since Im a young bride, my 12 bridesmaids and grromsmen love to party and drink. I dont think they allow alcohol on the church property...so what to do??? Ive been looking into venues but can not find one that will let us bring our own food :-( IDK what to do...and my fiance' is no help because he just keeps saying "whatever you want to do baby, thats what we will do" but thats not true because we are on a budget....

I would have the church reception with the simply toast. Then move the party to a club. You could rent a private room and have an consumpation bar. That's what my sis did and we all had a ball until the late morning.

Is your wedding going to have a lot of guests? Could you possibly have the reception at a home or local park area? Some community centers are pretty affordable and typically allow catering to be brought in.

Ditto ! Dancing Bride: I was just about to mention that too. But here in Houston all of the city owned places wont allow alcohol of any kind on the premises.

Thats what I wass thinking about doing FutureMrsHodges having the church reception and then go to a club and rent a area. That was what my fiance' was saying alos, but I think I was stuck on having more then just the toast. But I think thats what Im going to end up doing because in your pictures you guys mad it look fun :-)

Hayley C.- I called AIT yesterday so I may not hear from them until next week, but thank you for those rates because thats what i was calling for and also the alcohol question.

Honestly before counting the reception space out. I would ask if it is allowed. But have a plan B in case it is not.

That is also an opinion for us. If we have the reception at the church, we are having an "after party" for our friends at a club or lounge. We won;t be done partying after the reception Smiley smile LOL
