I registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's. It was fun but also more overwhelming than I anticipated. I recommend both but if Macy's is not your thing I definitely recommend BBB more. I personally see BBB as the base and Macy's as the stylized version that suits where our guests like to shop. So others like Target or Crate&Barrel. I would also recommend you make an appointment with BBB first so you can have the experience of someone guiding you. That was really helpful for me. Macy's gave us a scanner and let us roam free which was fantastic for the second appointment. I personally like seeing things in person but editing online has been beneficial as well.

Go for individual pieces rather than sets, especially for cookware! That way people can buy you a frying pan, rather than having tho she'll put for a ful 15-piece set or find other guests to go in on a gift with.

Also, upgrades upgrades upgrades for all your linens. We're still using towels from when I was in undergrad, and while yes they work I would love new ones. You can always donate gently used or well cared for items you currently use if you don't want to throw them out.

We registered at bed bath and beyond, target and Amazon. We went to BBB to register and it was overwhelming. We registered at target online which was much more relaxing. We had much more time to go over things and we could stop and look up reviews on certain products.

    Crate and Barrel

    Bloomingdale's

    Amazon

Crate and Barrel contained everything from regular household items, to bedroom sheets and bathroom decor. The purpose of Bloomingdale's was finding whatever Crate and Barrel didn't have. Amazon was for misc. items and electronics.

Word of Advice - It's always nice to include a brick and mortar store (so, a physical location) nearby wherever most of your guests live. Most of my guests live in Cleveland, Chicago, and NYC. There are plenty of Crate and Barrels and Bloomingdale's nearby. Some people do not like online shopping or do not know how (older crowds, possibly?), and prefer to go in store.

I registered at target and BBB. I think it's nice to give people options. I also looked at other people registries to see what that had to give me ideas. I found so many cute things that I would have never thought of.

Since FH and I have lived together for so long, we have basically everything we need. We registered on Amazon for the few things we didn't have and imported items from Hobby Lobby we liked on there.
