Help! Ring Enhancers/wraps

STB Mrs. Potts, on September 16, 2010 at 3:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

I am thinking about ordering my enhancer off the internet, but I dont know exactly how they work. Does every enhancer fit every ring? I know I went into a few shops and If i remember correctly every one of them fit my ring. But, I dont want to order it and have it not fit.

The ring enhancer/wrap is designed to fit around your solitaire. For example if you have a 1ct diamond then you need to order an enhancer/wrap that fits around a 1ct diamond. I also recommend that you make sure the color of the diamonds that are on the enhancer/wrap match the color of your diamond. Also to let you know I am not a big fan of the enhancer/wrap because you can never wear it by itself. Sometimes my wife will just wear here wedding ring without her engagement ring. She does this when she is running errands as well as going places she may not want her engagement ring to stand out. With an enhancer/wrap you can not do that.

Lol I was just at the local jewelry makers shop here, I'm looking to get one too and I am having the same problem. My ring is curved and I want a silver one to my FS silver wedding band, so the jewelry maker said he could do a custom one for me for $100. If you don't have a custom jewelry store I would say maybe go to one of the local jewelry shops and see if they can give you an idea of what type will fit your ring then just shop for that online.

Wow I didn't even know there was such a thing. If you ebay "ring enhancer" you get some, uh, interesting results. For my advanced age, I sure don't know anything . . .

Mine is from Zales, we were advised to get at least 1 size larger than tInge-ring as the enhancer will will cut off a portion of the e-band

@Greyash they made you a custom one for 100? Thats an awesome price.

I was thinking I might be doing a saphire and diamonds enhancer, they are less expensive, and they match all my other jewelry. But I will def. call around and see what they can do for a custom! thanks for the help ladies!

Kay's has some nice enhancers/wraps. I tried on a few, and they looked very nice with my solitaire. They said they would actually make it specifically for my ring, so it would match it well.

I just recently bought my wedding band which is an enhancer for a 3 stone engagment ring, and I would honestly recomend trying on the exact ring if you are going to purchase it on line only because I had picked out my ring online but did not like it when I tried it on in the store. I took trying on lots of rings and two stores to find the one! Heres a pic,

Yeah, the shop near my house it's just a little old man and his son and they do custom jewelry I came in with some pictures and instead of white gold I wanted it in silver to my FH and he said that since silver was super cheap and the design I want is just plain silver (I'm not having anything added to it no sapphires or anything just a plain band that will go on either side of the e-ring here's what I'm getting well as close to it with online stock photos lol

The first is my e-ring, and the second is the ring enhancer I want but it will be rounded to fit up against the curve of my ring instead of a point.

My "real band" will be an enhancer. But my day of band is going to be standard. I tried on 3 w/ mine & only 1 worked.

@Greyash those are soo pretty! lol. I like that.

@rachel I was thinking about going back in and figuring out what fits my ring the best, get the style and order in online. Thanks for that idea!

@Amber Every one that i tried on fit it perfectly, my ring is just a simple white gold band with a round cut diamond but its set to look like a princess cut (this is all what FH said.) lol. What does yours look like?

@Stacey Your ring is really pretty! I'm just worried about with the guards that it might feel too big on my hand. (I have really little hands so anything too big would feel weird) lol. But thanks for the advise! You ladies are a big help!
