Help - Sash or no sash?

Alright ladies, I need your suggestions on whether or not I should add a sash to my dress. I think the dress looks elegant without one, but I'm a little afraid that it might be too plain without one! I was thinking maybe of not wearing one for the ceremony, then putting it on for the reception with a matching hair flower.

The sash in the picture is not the one I would get (it is $475 at the bridal shop! NO WAY!) so if I decide to wear one I think I will get the one in the third picture (from etsy), except not the champagne color shown.

So, should I wear a sash? And if I do, what color? I was thinking of a light ivory sash to match the dress, not champagne because I don't think I want to introduce another color. Do you think an ivory sash wil still have the illusion of cinching in my waist like the champagne one does?

THANKS!!

Sash! Both are beautiful, so go with the more affordable one!

I did look for the Watters one to see if I can find it cheaper, but it doesn't look the same, so I'm not sure if it is a fake one or not! I actually like the etsy one a lot more, but the color range is smaller -- ivory, light ivory, oatmeal, champagne, and taupe. The vanilla bean of the Watters belt is like a very light taupe. The etsy taupe and oatmeal and champagne all look too dark to me. I was going to do Ivory but don't know if it will make the same impact. This is so hard!

    Yes! It's

she sent me samples but the champagne is very yellow/orangey looking to me. The taupe is softer, but just a bit too dark.

Both ways are pretty, but the sash does add that little extra. However if your going with a similar style I do suggest a color that would contrast a bit.

Heyyyyy i know you!!!! Smiley laugh since I have inside information that you might want a matching hairpiece...I think I would go with the ivory. I'm not sure what the darker color would look like in your hair?

I think you are right about the champagne...but is your sash going to be made-to-order? You can always exchange the color if you don't like it (assuming it isn't made-to-order)

I like the sash!! I actually like it more in a different color like your picture. Otherwise I'd be afraid it would blend too much with the dress and you couldn't even see it. That wouldn't have the effect your looking for of sinching in your waist.

BUT...regardless of what color you choose, that etsy sash is gorgeous and you should definitely add it!

Can you ask her if she can get the vanilla color you want? Maybe send her a sample?

I like the dress with a sash. As much as I love etsy, a lot of places make them to order so you won't be able to return it. I would go to a local bridal boutique. I am sure you can find one fore under $200 I got mine for 140.
