HELP! Typo in my wedding guestbook!!!!

Brittany, on December 3, 2015 at 7:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Hello Everyone,

This is super embarrassing but I need some serious advice. I ordered my wedding guestbook off of shutterfly and its absolutely beautiful and perfect and wonderful....except: I put the WRONG DATE of the wedding in TWO places! I can't believe I did this. Actually, the date is correct but the year is wrong. It should read "2016" not "2015".

I called Shutterfly and the best they would offer me is 50% off of the retail value of a whole new book. I also got the current book 50% off, so that basically means that I have to buy an entirely new book for the same price that I bought it for before.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can fix this without reordering? It is literally two characters of text. The downside: 1 error is on the front cover and the other is on the title page. Such a big oops!.

Any tips are greatly appreciated

Sharpie Smiley smile not being a smart ass I really think a sharpie would do the trick. No one will even notice probably (except you of course!)

I was also going to suggest a thin tip sharpie.

Thank you for your responses! I thought of a sharpie too. Here are my issues with that:

    1) my handwriting sucks so I'd be terrified to try. I suppose I could try to ask someone who has some sort of semblance of drawing capabilities.

    2) finding sharpie that is the same color (the blue writing is called "sapphire")

    Thoughts?

If not a sharpie, craft stores like Michaels usually have markers of various widths and colors

I would suggest making a stencil for the 6 before you write on it. Lay a piece of thin paper (or even wax paper) over the book and draw out the number in pencil. Once you're happy with what it looks like, make a cardboard stencil and fill it in.
