Help! - venue in Minnesota

Lauren, on May 21, 2018 at 10:34 PM Posted in Minnesota Planning 0 8
Hey everyone
so I am located in Minnesota and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for cheap wedding venues that are also nice. Our budget for our wedding is 10,000. Thanks!

You can do ceremony and reception at the stunning Minneapolis city hall for $2,500 on a Saturday evening, less on other days. The preferred caterers are all in the $30/plate range though.

If you're looking for rustic nice rather than fancy nice, Ojiketa Regional Park in Chisago City is pretty. Ceremony and reception spaces combined will cost you $2,000 but you get them from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. They provide tables and chairs but linen rentals are extra. You can bring in any caterer you want.

There's a nice hall in a park in Rosemont that was like $800 I think. Conservatories nearby would make lovely indoor ceremony options for about $500 if you didn't want to be outside at the park.

Frontenac Golf Course is a decent standard hall, but at really good rates. I think there was a food/drink minimum but no room fee, can't quite recall.

A little more towards the south there's a lovely art gallery that does ceremonies for a few hundred bucks, and I think about 20 minutes away there was a pretty hall that was super affordable--less than $1,000 it might even have been like $500.

How is your search going, Lauren? Still on the hunt? Just in case, I did a search for you of the venues we have listed on WeddingWire. This search is focused on the twin cities area but you can change it to wherever works best for you, of course Smiley smile You can read ratings and reviews from newlyweds, look at pictures of the venues, filter your search by the size of your guest list and the type of location you want, and since I know price is important to you you can request price quotes right through WeddingWire! What is the sort of venue style that appeals to you most?

We are getting married at our town's art center for about 1700, after all taxes and fees, insurance, ceremony, reception use, set up/tear down of their tables/chairs, use of the entire facility (including gallery, kitchen, ballroom, bridal area, etc) for 12 hours on Friday and 12 hours on Saturday. Call a few places in your town that might not be advertised as a wedding rental... you might be surprised!

I just booked our venue, it’s called the Dodge Nature center in west St. Paul. It was 2,500 for the whole day, two beautiful buildings and an amphitheater are included. They don’t have a preferred caterer, they allow food trucks as well (in my search I noticed the catering minimums killed my budget). They also will allow us to bring in our own beer and wine without us having to hire a bartender (if you want anything stronger then you do have to get a pro to serve drinks). They don’t have many photos online but it’s really a lovely space. One of the buildings was recently remodeled and is gorgeous. They do have a max of about 100 guests, they said they could squeeze a few more than that, but it gets pretty tight. I’d suggest going to check it out in person if you are looking in that area!
