Help! Want candlesticks and candelabras

Coralie, on February 6, 2017 at 10:47 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 17

I really love the romantic vintage look but am finding that these are a lot more expensive than I thought they would be. Any ideas on where to get them cheap? Or a DIY idea? One idea I have is finding what I can at thrift stores and spray painting them

First make sure they are allowed at your venue. Most places require any candles to be in glass, or prohibit candles altogether.

2nd what StPaulGal said...then for budget friendly, I think you are on the right track to buy as you find & then spray paint them.

Here is the candelabra I fell in love with (bought early on in a long engagement...budget ouch!)...but still love them!

Check yard sales, flea markets and even craigslist or local wedding facebook pages. You could spray paint stuff you like the shape of but not the color.

The dollar tree has all different size candlesticks on their website. I'm using them and spray painting gold.

Ebay has them. Just search lot of bronze candlestick and candelabras. Pretty reasonably priced.

Stalk wedding resale sights. Look at rental companies near you. There have been several "vintage wedding rental" companies popping up in my area.

Other than that garage sales and thrift stores and a can of spray paint

I'm doing this! And I just found the last six I needed at an antique store yesterday! Most of them were already a bronze or gold color but I have had to spray paint a few of them.

I've searched high and low but the best is renting them for us. We are looking at 13 candelabras 30" to 60" which can run from $60- $100+ each for quality metal ones buying them. We have multiple quotes from $35- $50 renting in Orlando area

Our venue required all sides of the candles to be protected by glass. My sister's venue supplied votives, but that was the only flammable item they could have. Tapers get knocked over and fall over easily.

As for my venue, we can't have real open flames. So I have to get the battery operated candle sticks, which still look realistic and give the same lighting effect. Not my first choice but it's what I have to work with!

Thanks everyone! My venue does allow candles anyway and I will go to the dollar store today and see what I can find. Rental companies are a good idea I'll have to see if i can locate some!
