Help! We pick out bridesmaids dresses tonight and I can't decide on a color scheme! I'm indecisive

Michelle, on February 3, 2016 at 12:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I'm a very simple person. I believe in the 'less is more' approach. It will be a summer wedding. Rustic/vintage type theme, not country. Decorations of wood, burlap, lace, mason jars I like the idea of blush pink dresses with baby's breath and a pink flower bouquet. I think that the wood/burlap would help mellow out the light pink/white. The problem is that I really like navy blue, that was my original color, but I'm having trouble finding a flower that is dark enough. I had the idea of navy blue dresses with accents of pink, but if I can't find anywhere else to incorporate the navy blue it seems like the bridesmaids would stick out like a sore thumb.

My future MIL thinks that I need more color. She suggested some color combos that I'm not sure about and aren't really my taste (pastel pink/blue, reminds me of a baby shower. Dark blue and purple..too bold for me!)

If I use more brown tones/greenery in the bouquets do you think it would help even out the colors of light pink/white?

Not everything has to be matchy matchy. If you like navy blue dresses go for it, the flowers can still be shades of blush. ivory, and pink. In fact I like that idea a lot; and if you're wearing white/ivory/blush your dress will really pop in photos against their dark dresses. It's a good idea to add at least one strong color if you're doing light laces, blushes, and burlap.

My bridesmaids wore blue dresses, all of my décor was white, gold, and greenery. Do blue dresses, it won't matter if everything is matchy matchy.

I'm doing blush and navy as my wedding colors. The navy is going on my FH and GM, Blush will be bridesmaid dresses with navy wrap for their flowers. The decor we are doing is mason jars with baby's breathe and carnations, not really putting any navy in that.

Agreed, the dresses do not have to match the flowers. navy might pop nicely against the pink and white.

i personally love the look of mismatched yet coordinated bridesmaid dresses, and i think they look especially nice with rustic themes. if you cant settle on just one color, that is always an option.

Its ok for your bridesmaids to stick out! Navy Blue would look great with a rustic theme wedding. If you had that idea and you think it will look nice go for it!

I'm having my bridesmaids in blush pink and neutral dresses and for contrast they will have bundles of fresh lavender! Just what I've decided to do!

Just for a photo, my girls had navy dresses with pink flowers. We did navy and pink napkins, centerpieces, and cake decorations.

When I look at these pictures they both look so nice! And it makes it harder for me to choose. I'm actually thinking about waiting until I have the girls try them on. Just to see how everyone's skin tones look with the different colors. This is me being extremely indecisive! Thanks for all of the input!
