Help, wedding band or no?

Laree's, on November 10, 2019 at 3:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
When fh purchased this engagement ring for me, I decided it was so beautiful as is, I didn’t want a wedding band. I felt and still kinda do, that a wedding band will take away from the details of the ring that I love so much as well as make it to big for my taste. Now I’m torn because I feel like I should have a band for traditional purposes and that I might regret down the road not getting one. This is my ring from some different angles. Help, what is your opinion, what do you think I should do?

My ring has a really cool design too but my fiancé was hurt when I said I didn’t need a band. When we went to pick out bands they actually didn’t take away from the e-ring at all, just made it more beautiful. I think yours would look nice with a thin matching band.

You could always get a plain silver band for traditional purposes and either only wear it for special occasions or wear it on its own on a daily basis and only bring out the engagement ring for special occasions.

Mine was relieved lol one less purchase! We are paying for the wedding by ourselves and it adds up fast. I haven’t told him I’m second guessing my decision though. The place he bought the engagement ring went out of business so there isn’t a matching band I can buy but I guess I’ll just have to stop at some jewelry stores and see if anything even looks good next to it. I just can’t picture it. Thanks for your input!

It doesn’t hurt to get a band but you don’t have to wear it all the time. Maybe have something designed to work well with you engagement ring.

I never got a band. I wanted a statement e-ring. Yours is beautiful as is! You can use that in your ceremony and if you decide later you want a band, you can get for a special anniversary (5 or 10-year).

Agree with this! I absolutely love my ring as is and always planned to forgo the wedding band. Lately I've also had a few doubts about not getting a band but I figured if it's still missed down the line we can purchase one as an anniversary gift.

That is very true! Plus it would be any easy anniversary gift for him to get haha, and the added expense would be later versus now. Thanks!

So true! And it gives you time to figure out if you really do want a band and if so, what kind.

    I think a band is a must!
    1) the ring exchange. I think that part of the ceremony is beautiful.
    2) it tells the world you are married, not simply engaged.
That being said. You have to do what’s right for you. A plain gold band for the ring exchange and to wear for moments when you don’t want to wear the ering.
Or, My friend wears a simple thin diamond band on her right hand and her ering on her left hand.

Even if I don’t get a band I will be doing the ring exchange with my ering because I love that part of the ceremony as well. I’m just going to have to shop and see if anything looks good next to my ring and I think that will help with my decision. Thanks for your opinion. Everyone is giving my great tips and advice and I appreciate it.

I originally didn't want a wedding band. I didn't like the matching one, it was too bulky and one-sided so I'd have to get both sides, then it would be SUPER bulky. So I settled for a very simple silver band. I'm happy I got one in the end!Help, wedding band or no? 5

I love my engagement ring and all the details, but we both want to add something to really signify that we got married. We decided to do two wedding bands for my ring because we want to keep it symmetrical (it's a marquise).
