Help with Jr. Bridesmaid attire

Jasmin, on April 28, 2021 at 10:33 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Long story short we recently took guardianship of our 11-year-old niece. There's a lot of back story, but the relevant information is she has D cups, short hair and is dealing with some gender fluidity questions.

I asked her what she wanted to wear to the wedding and she said she was okay with a dress but wanted to wear black heels - our color is forest green. My partner also hates our color (I really don't care haha) so he wants her to wear a cream/blush dress. I don't think our niece would be happy in those colors - she wears black every day - but I know she wouldn't say anything if she hated it so I'm not even going to ask.

Does anyone have any recommendation on another color that might match or should I just buy the forest green dress to hell with coordinating shoes?

Black is a neutral, so I think black heels and a forest green dress should go fine together.

Even though black heels go with everything, it might not be the “look” you’re going for. Like my wedding is all baby blues and blush haha so wearing black heels would give it an opposite effect. Howeverrrrr, since Forrest green is on the darker side, would you be okay with the bridesmaids all wearing black heels? Will her dress be long and her shoes and hide the heels? Are all the bridesmaids wearing the same style dress? You can try maybe a navy blue but you’d have one different bridesmaid and she might not be ok with standing out? Just food for thought. Black shoes will look just fine so long as everyone else isn't wearing white shoes. I would stick with Forest green since it is a much less gendered color than blush or pink. (You could also let her wear a black dress but that is totally up to you.)

I think it's probably fine. If the gowns are floor-length, people won't be seeing the shoes much anyway.
