Has anyone had or knows someone that has had a yacht wedding and if yes what was the feedback on that venue?

Also please share you thoughs on my venue selection I am very confused on selecting a venue plus I feel as if I'm running out of time.

I felt it was the right amount of time. Ive been to lots of weddings that seem to drag, and I feel bad when I leave early, with a yacht wedding its a set time, they are stuck with you and its perfect! and for our favors they were small clay pots, with a piece of soil that expands when u add water and seeds...I used them for both the favors and table seating.

I'm having a yatch wedding! Smiley smile My venue is Empress of Sausalito in CA (www.empressevents.com)

Many ladies on here have talked about the time issue. I personally think 4 hours is plenty of time to have a wedding. With a yatch, you are limited to the amount of people, so for you to have the traditional dances/thank yous/cake/food... it's plenty of time! The only extras I have to pay for are anything decoration I want to bring for the ceremony area, and little touches here and there. Also, alcohol is separate.

Even tho my wedding will only be 4 hours, we have the option of making it longer. My people charge $800 per hour for the boat.

PM me your email and I can send you 2 different proposals from 2 different companies. one that charges per person, and the other than charges per hour/per food Smiley smile

I looked into the yatch thing. I would have had to cut my original guest list in half and paid twice as much- but maybe that's just my area.

I know people who did it and loved it. I know people who did it and hated it. But if you're looking for something really different- a yatch isn't neccessarily it... That's pretty commom actually.

They can also be very hurried and your set up time is very very limited, so your decor is pretty much what they have with a few centerpieces thrown around.

Thanks Meghan actually I have to basically cut my guest list in half as well :-( the only up side to the whole thing is that July is one of the slowest months in South florida for weddings so I am getting hugh discounts. Plus they told me as for set up if there isn't any other functions on that day I can set up as early as I want. I didn't think that much ppl get married on yachts & that it's actually common now lol. Do you have any ideas on different venues that will wow me & my guests? BTW I see that you are getting married one week before me YEAAAAA lol...

Here are some pics of the yatch I'll be using. The flowers are from the wedding that took place the weekend before I went (I was there on a tuesday). They had table runners and sashes on the chairs for the event that weekend.

This is the upstairs dance/lounge area where the ceremony takes place: the couches are gone and the chairs lined up. making an aisle in the middle.

I'm inviting 70 people. They all fit. Smiley smile

Thanks Danya the dining room is pretty. I love the fact that you still have a nice view of outside even while inside.

Oh yes. It's wonderful. Our yatch will sail across the San Francisco Bay, go to Alcatraz, and under the Golden Gate bridge. Our ceremony will take place at sunset...

    [insert "ooo" and "aaah"]

This is the view of the guests will have during the dock-side ceremony. Just imagine it with sunset colors Smiley smile

Sorry I kinda took over with the pics and all... I'm just so excited! Smiley smile

LOL... you did not take over if anything I would love to see more. I am expecting those that has pictures to please share so I can have a better feel for what I am about to do. I went to Empress's website & I loved what I saw. The yacht I might go with doesn't really move me on the outside (The Caprice) www.sundreamsyachts.com but the one I am dying for is the (Floridaian Princess) www.yachtchatersnow.com. Tell me what you think?

Really it is not possible for anyone of the people to leave early from the place. Only way is that if they know swimming they can leave in the middle. Apart from that there is no other choice. You can contact wedding yacht miami for more details.
