Also an October bride! I hit a lull for a bit since we were waiting on a few things before we could fire away with other plans (waiting to pick up my dress before scheduling alterations, waiting for family to figure out whether they'd need transportation, etc.), so we're about to ramp back up. On one hand it feels like there's still plenty of time since we're just shy of 5 months out, but then thinking about how much needs to get done gets me worried all over again. I'm just trying to put one foot in front of the other right now and knock out one thing at a time.

We have our details meeting with our venue (also their in-house catering) next week and it feels so surreal! A lot of the big decisions will be finalized then so I'm also worried about it feeling like a "hurry up and wait" situation over the summer, lol. Now we just have to order and send invitations, finish our website, and get odds and ends like decor, escort cards, and favors figured out.

I'm in the same boat right now. I've been slowly working on music for the ceremony and reception and I'm starting to save images for ideas of smaller details like the seating chart as those aspects are "fun" to me. I also took 3 weeks and did nothing wedding related which was amazing! We don't have our final details meeting with our Venue until mid-September so it's a waiting game until then with all Vendors.

OMG! Yes 100x yes. We finished all the big things right after we got engaged when I had all the wedding planning energy in the world. I thought the little things and the minor details would be the easiest part of the planning process but its NOT.. for me anyway. I'm still narrowing down a makeup artist as the one I really wanted fell though. I'm also planning the entire wedding by myself so the little details have become overwhelming and I have zero energy. Luckily people have recently asked if they could help... I'm prideful and I typically say no thanks but not this time!

Maybe getting friends and family to help with little tasks like invitation assembly and addressing/mailing could help and you would save some time and energy.

Do you have any recommendations for music? We have the big ones already (first dance, son and mother, ECT) but what about entrance? I am lost on what song I want to be announced as new Mrs & Mr!

Yes I couldn't agree more with you! I really enjoyed planning the big things like vendors! I have everything booked from the venue to the lighting lol! I just have all the little things like small details to make it OUR wedding I just have no motivation at all. I'm also planning the whole thing by myself so I understand the struggle! I have a great bridal party that is willing to do anything and everything I just need to finally sit down and be like come over and help me! UGH!

I think alterations have been one of my biggest stresses. Logically, I know that'll take care of the issues I have with my dress, but just the fact that they aren't done yet and I have to wait until they can even get started is driving me nuts. A lot of bigger things I got knocked out right away, but the little things are what I actually need the energy and motivation to handle lol

So, my fiance and I both like hard rock and we are looking at a fun, upbeat rock/metal song to walk into. My fiance likes the idea of "Why Don't You and I" w/ Santana and Chad Kroeger!) A large portion of those attending our wedding enjoys the same music, which helps us.

My Suggestion: If there's a favorite song between you and your fiance that you like singing along to, that would be a great option because it will show your happiness!

SAME. When my dress arrived I did not like how it looked in "my" size... I also know that alterations will help but I have months of just waiting to get them started and am so anxious about it!

Lol I literally had a stress dream last night that I walked down the aisle in leggings and a sweatshirt then switched into my dress (pre-alterations) for the second half of the ceremony. Cannot wait to get this part checked off!

We have pretty much every thing done as well. We have a few things like sending out invitations in August, a few diys, and going over the menu/ tastings. What really helped me stay focused and excited has been watching wedding planning videos on YouTube/ TikTok, getting my monthly miss to mrs. Box and watching wedding movies. It helps me really enjoy this time and not get really stressed out plus it give me motivation to do the little things! Good luck girl we got this!
