Help!

Alyssa, on October 9, 2019 at 4:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

My FH and I were planning on having a big wedding in Spring 2021. However, we have decided to have an intimate gathering to tie the knot sooner. We still plan on having a larger wedding around 2021 though. The problem is that we both have large close families and are having trouble cutting down the list for our intimate gathering. How do we invite some without offending other family members?

I would just stick with immediate family; parents, siblings, and grandparents. You can’t avoid people feeling offended, it’s going to happen no matter what.

I have to agree with Caytlyn, having large families can be tricky. It would be best to stick with immediate family and draw a clear line somewhere.

We thought of a private ceremony. Like the other posters indicated: immediate only. Parents, grandparents, siblings. We were going to go as far as our first cousins because they were also raised as siblings.

I agree with everyone else. Just do immediate family. Everyone else will be there for the big wedding and reception
