The good news is that the number of people on each side does not have to be even nor do you need any bridesmaids to be married. This site is littered with stories of people who chose attendants they were not close to (just to have people in the role or out of obligation) and then they had problems.

Far better to enjoy your planning and your day with only the people who mean the most to you. Sounds like for you, that's your future spouse. Enjoy your planning!

No family or friends...? I don’t think you have any options then for “choosing” bridesmaids.

You dont "need" anyone to stand with you... but there isnt one person you could imagine standing beside you? Nowadays, you could even have a bridesman. Dont feel pressured though! Smiley smile Better to stand alone than with people you arent comfortable with. Happy planning and good luck. 🍀

Does FH have any female relatives that you are close to? Sisters? Cousins? Not every bride has bridesmaids. In fact, some brides choose to not have any at all. Sometimes having bridesmaids can be stressful. They don't always listen to what you want, they can have drama, and that's the last thing you need.

Someone else suggested a bridesman. My friend did this. Her best friend in life was a guy, so she asked him to stand with her, and he did!! It was excellent.

You definitely shouldn't force the issue. But don't feel bad about it either. You're marrying the love of your life, right? That's really the most important thing.
