Lol ok so, I, for real, never even thought I would ever have a real wedding and I don’t have any friends, so I am completely lost on all of this! Any advice?

Yes! First off CONGRATS BRIDE!!!!! Secondly set a date. Set money aside each month that you know you can afford. Example: So say you put $1000 a month aside. If you plan your wedding a year away/12 months your budget would be $12,000. Once you establish a budget, start looking at venues. You said you don’t have any friends so that’s awesome! Less potential drama.

    Congrats and welcome!

I recommend getting a wedding planning book, or a binder to help you stay organized.

Then, check out the lists and advice here, or on the Knot, Zola, or Offbeat Bride. These tools can be really useful in figuring out timelines, budgets, and ideas.

And remember: it's YOUR wedding. You can do whatever you want!

The only real rules are: 1. A couple to get married, 2. A license/officiant, 3. Food for any guests you might have.

    Everything else?

    Gravy.

Congrats & welcome to WW! Sit down with your fiancé to discuss guest list & budget. I love WW for these forums but I’ve seen too many people having issues with the personal domain they purchased with WW. I use The Knot for our wedding website & checklist. The checklist keeps me on track & I don’t feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done.

    Congratulations!

Others have had great advice so far - budget is very important!

Another consideration: what kind of wedding you are interested in! Do you want a small, intimate gathering? Or are you more of a "blowout party with everyone and their brother" type? This is also an important question to ask your FS. It will help you out when it comes to budget and how extensive your planning will be.

Finally, enjoy your engagement! You'll only be a fiancé once, so enjoy it. Smiley smile
