Help 😫

Ashley, on September 16, 2020 at 12:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
We are getting married in 31 days and I’ve reached out to my officiant a couple times to verify everything is all set and ask if there’s anything other information she needs. I have not heard back and I’m getting a little nervous😕 Do I start looking for another one or do I wait it out ? I’m so torn and stressed!

I would wait it out a bit. Try all the other methods of reaching out to them

How long has it been since you initially reached out to her? If it's been less than a week, I'd give her a few more days to reply. Also try calling her instead of email. If you don't hear from her after a couple weeks, maybe start looking for a backup plan.

As both Melle and Lisa have noted, wait a couple of more days, she could just be busy with other weddings and then try to call or visit in person if that's feasible.

Give it a week or two at least. Some officiants or JP may do 3 or 20 weddings a week May to Sept. And this has been a crazy time, with people's kids and grandkids home from school, or home schooling. Your person may be taking a break, catching up on their medical and dental appts, and their families. Or getting back to a seasonal job. Gone hinting? Jewish and celebrating both the happy and solemn holidays for over 2 weeks? Quite innocent breaks..

I would wait it out a bit. I would contact her again in a week if she hasn’t responded and then I would start looking for backup

I would give them three days tops to respond. And I would call them and not email for follow up. I’m not sure how many other officiants can do something with less than a months notice but our officiant is a family friend who got ordained online. So if all else fails have a friend or family member as a backup and have them go online the day of even and get ordained but check with your county clerk and check first if it’s legal. It is in our area and he was ordained through universal life church it’s online and free!
