My venue called me and told us we would have to move our wedding somewhere else due to them planning on selling the venue ! 😭😭 it was my dream venue !! Luckily we didn’t put any money down yet ! So now we’re deciding between a church or another venue we’re on a budget as well!!

Oh my goodness... I'm so sorry. How far out is the wedding? Hopefully you can find another.

It’s not for a couple of years but we’re trying to get the big things out of the way so we can focus on the small details without stressing !!

I'm sorry this is happening. I would say it is really going to depend on the vibe you want for your wedding. If you want a fun party vibe then a church for the reception will not work. But since your wedding is still over two years away that should give you time to safe money for the wedding.

I meant like alcohol with dancing and a DJ because churches typically won't allow that. But by no means is alcohol necessary. I have never had a drink in my life, but some people feel you can't have fun without alcohol.

Then I would say it's really up to you where you want to have it. My brother had an alcoholic free wedding and the ceremony was at the church and the reception was in an old train station where the bottom floor was converted into a ballroom and the top floors were offices. They had talked about having it in the basement of the church but decided against it because they wanted something more upscale. Options aside from churches, some other options would be hotels (usually have a food minimum though), a park, barn, country club, or banquet hall.
