Henna/Mehndi with white dress?

My father offered to pay for my henna for the wedding, and I'm split on whether I should do it. On the one hand, it could look great and it traditional for half of me. My father offered to pay for my henna for the wedding, and I'm split on whether I should do it. On the one hand, it could look great and it traditional for half of me. On the other hand, it could look awful with the dress, it's not something that I can wash off before the big day.

I know there are other options like body paint, but I wanna do it for real or not at all.

Has anyone seen this combo or is thinking about doing it?

@amandaaok literally just trying to tell her not to get a disease from the inauthentic stuff, but if you want to get defensive about it, go right ahead.

I think it would look very pretty! Also- its part of your culture, so why not include it? If you are leaning toward it, do it!

I think it's STUNNING. I love seeing these photos. A gal was on here and if i remember correctly she surprised her husband with a mendhi on her arms and legs for their wedding to honor his culture. (i May be totally wrong but i thought this was right!)

It looked SO beautiful. She was nervous she went over board but it looked amazing. I wish I had a photo to show you.

I think it looks beautiful from the pics that have been posted. How much detail will be on your dress? I think adding the henna could be a really unique way to add a bit of flair while embracing your culture.

Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but is it possible to have a henna design that sort of compliments the designs/details of your dress? Obviously not the same but the icing detail on my cake was based off the lace of my dress.

I still haven't finalized the applique for my dress, but we are going for pointed leaves and vines spreading out wards. I recall from somewhere that Moroccan henna tends to be more geometric, so I'm eying things like this one too... But I dont know how it would work on the ankle/calf area.

I think you should go for it, but keep it fairly simple, or as PPs have suggested, try to match it to your dress. It's part of you, so own it, I think it'll look beautiful Smiley laugh

Henna is amazing looking 95% of the time so I'd recommend it for sure. Though I would perhaps recommend getting a simpler dress with fewer embellishments so the two don't seem to compete?

Sorry but I think white Henna looks awful. I will also be having a Moroccan Henna party prior to the wedding. If you're wedding is going to have certain traditional elements, I wouldn't really worry about the Henna clashing with the dress. Not sure if you've had your wedding yet but I'd be interested to see how it all looked. Smiley smile
