Hiding Ugly Room Divider

Help! My venue has a room divider that goes back into the wall. They normally just put a fake tree in front of it. But I would like something else. I cannot attach anything to the walls. Here is a picture of how they normally decorate (eww!) Any suggestions?

What am I missing. It looks fine to me. No one is going to care as long as you don't have pictures with the tree growing out of your head.

With the uplighting and the tree, I think it looks really nice - actually. I would have never known that was a divider based on the picture you posted.
