Hired a personal trainer--More money down the drain--Meme included

MrsBest2B, on March 16, 2016 at 10:05 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15

15-20 more pounds to go before my first fitting (in 5 weeks) so I took the plunge to get over this frustrating plateau. Went on my credit card. The wallet hurts more than my legs.

I'm pretty sure it's going to end like this...

and for the record I spent $500!! Piss poor and I did it anyway

Girl, if you ever need to feel better about your choice I will send you my gym bills for the last year. It hurts when I see the charge appear on my card every month, but I actually think it's one of the most justifiable things I spend money on...I love it, it makes me feel good and it keeps me accountable to a healthy lifestyle. You can have all the money in the world, but if your health is the only thing money can't fix Smiley smile

Do you have a planet fitness? It's 10$ a month and they have personal trainer sessions that you can sign up for. Included with the membership! Along with several classes that target wroci fix areas and a whole body workout.

I don't think it'll be money down the drain! This is your health, your life. I agree that it's the most justifiable thing to spend money on. I don't know how many times a week you have scheduled with them, but just remember it's only half what you do during your sessions and half on your own too. Good luck, you got this!!

I'm so lucky one of my BMs is a bikini competitor. I just follow her workouts and diet. Better than a trainer because I know she will show up at my place any day of the week to check my fridge for contraband.

I hear you! I'm starting mine Sunday. Really didn't need a extra wedding expense, but I want to look and feel good on wedding day.

LizzyS it's 12 sessions. Their plan is once a week for 90 days, but I can go as much or as little as I want -- so basically 12 sessions. I'm gonna try for twice a week.

Amy thank you, I do have a Planet Fitness kinda near me but my gym is a few blocks away which is as convenient as it gets to get me to go lol. It's also only $20 a month, plus now my training sessions.

I have training sessions too! It helps because I can do the whole treadmill and elliptical thing, but toning and muscles are tougher to do correctly and to see results. Yes, expensive, but I am glad I committed.

I have been contemplating doing a personal trainer for the last three months also. I have done a trainer before and I love it!!! It's nice just to be able to mix up my workouts once a week.

I have a YMCA membership at 54 bucks a month which was hard to justify at first but after going for a couple months I actually look forward to it after work. Plus they offer fitness classes so I take about 2 or 3 classes a week to shake things up. A personal trainer is an investment into you so it is not a waste of money!

I was working out with a personal trainer for a while last year and it was awesome! I only stopped because my wallet forced me to. Good luck with it!!

You'll love it, and you WILL see results. I stopped working out for a couple of years, and then one day I looked at my previously buff arms. Yikes.

So I did the personal trainer thing (it was 600. for ten sessions) and now I do the same stuff he did at home; he didn't use almost any machines, just the bands, big ball and an elliptical in between.

    You can do it!

Thanks for all the motivation! I've seriously changed my diet in the last year and this is the first winter ever that I haven't sat around like a lump of coal waiting for daffodils to bloom. I've actually been consistently going to the gym since January, but I hit a plateau. I'd lost about 20lbs between last March-October. Gained I don't know how much of it back over the holidays, and then got back down to the first 20lb loss in January. Now I've been at that same weight for 2 months and just can't seem to shake it. I'm hoping this will do the trick. 5 weeks til my first fitting, 94 days til the big day and a lifetime of a healthy lifestyle change.

I can't say that I will actually ever enjoy working out though lol. I do enjoy when my clothes fit though--even better when they're too big!
