Holiday Weddings (calling all you past, present and future December brides!)

Holiday Weddings (calling all you past, present and future December brides!) 1

All you (past, present and future) December brides… Will you (or did you) be embracing the holidays in your wedding theme/decor?
I absolutely Looooove a holiday themed wedding… the decor is so lush, warm and cozy! I mean, who doesn’t want to attend a wedding that feels like walking into a Hallmark movie?! Plus, there are so many creative ways (beyond basic decor) to include the season! Some of my favorites are Christmas ornaments used in lieu of seating cards, hot chocolate bars, cocktails that embrace the seasonal flavors, s’mores, comfort foods, furs for the bride and/or bridesmaids… I could go on and on! For those of you getting married during the holiday season (this year or any year), will you be incorporating the holidays in your event? If so, please feel free to share your ideas, pictures, or Pinterest/inspiration photos! Here are a few of my favorites:

    Absolutely not.

Our wedding was rescheduled from a June 2020 timeline and I am keeping my original color palette and scheme even though it's next Sunday. I have made my guests clear it's NOT A CHRISTMAS THEME. It's in the Florida keys so my tropical color scheme still makes sense but I know I can't get away from the fact that the resort will have some Xmas decor up (not in our banquet hall though)

I love it too! I really wanted a new year's eve wedding with all the glitter I could find, silver and gold and dressy. But FH didn't want to deal with the winter affecting people's travel. Are you having any holiday in your wedding being a Nov wedding, Cece?

I love NYE weddings!! The excitement is already there and guests are ready to really let loose & celebrate 🍾🥂
We are not doing anything holiday related for our wedding since it is in early November and a destination wedding. If we weren’t dead set on our date, I would have loved to do a Christmas or NYE wedding!

Oh wow, those pictures are SO pretty, cosy and somehow nostalgic for something I've never really experienced!

I would LOVE to attend a wedding with that theme! I will say, Christmas in Australia is... very different from that, so we would never have that vibe in December, and no one tries it in June either, people just have the same wedding they'd have at any other time of year, just with guests wearing coats over their dresses/suits and maybe the bride wearing a topper over her dress, lol.

We don't really do seasons here, so I honestly am enchanted by them in other countries!

Oh wow, things are so different in Australia! To be honest, I really have never known much about Australia, so I just googled your weather/seasons 😆
And wow, your weather is SO different than ours here in the United States!!! You have such beautiful, mild weather all year! Do you ever get snow?

and yes we do get snow! We have quite high mountains here (not tall, just high above sea level) and they get snow in winter. Also our capitol city, Canberra, definitely gets snow. Never like, in the middle of Sydney where I live though!

Hey girl! I’m actually getting married on New Years day, so we incorporated pine cones, snow globes, but our colors are light blue, white, and grey.

Your Christmas photo on the beach looks like something straight from a Gidget movie! And OMG that kangaroo is so adorable! He looks so curious about the person taking the picture ❤️ So are there really just kangaroos running around??

Haha, not in Sydney where I live or in towns, but you do see them in the fields near where my parents live, which is about 1.5 or so hours out of Sydney - they tend to come out at dusk and dawn.

When I was little we'd go camping at this beach and they'd be around the campsite, waiting for people to feed them.

Generally they're pretty easy going but they can get very big and really are dangerous if they feel like it - they balance on their tails and box/kick out with their feet. Plus hitting one with your car would do serious damage.

Like most of them (especially the brown ones) are reasonably small and if you approached them they'd just hop away unless they thought you wanted to feed them, but no joke they can get super jacked, and the red ones can grow over 6 foot!

OMG!! That roo looks like it’s coming to mug you!! And you best believe I would give that thing anything it wanted! 😆 He legit looks like he’s on steroids!
It sounds like kangaroos for y’all are like deer for us in the Midwest. Except deer won’t let you get anywhere close to them and definitely won’t let you feed them 😕 The prospect of getting to feed a wild kangaroo is definitely making me want to visit Australia now!

Lol I would too! And he really does. Does he secretly lift weights or something?

There are lots of wildlife parks that you can buy pellets at to feed kangaroos. Generally they're quite nice creatures and they have very soft fur. You can also eat them, so maybe they are like your deer! They're a very lean, dense meat. Haha, I think we're the only country that eats our national animal!

The first date we decided on before settling for Halloween would have been the first weekend of December. Here are a few ideas I saw on Pinterest when we were planning that date:
