Holiday Weekends

It's a love hate thing because food and hotels . It's easier for my soon to husband because he off on that holiday.

It's easier for people to have off that are traveling if giving enough notice.

Just a warning: If folks aren't invited to the ceremony, you might not get the turnout that you want at the reception, regardless of whether it's a holiday weekend.

I'm getting married this labor day weekend 2022 in New Orleans. I gave my guests plenty notice. Also allows time to explore the city without most having to take vacation time from work. Everyone likes the idea.

I’m having my ceremony and reception sept 3rd

We are getting married on Labor Day weekend this year! Our reasoning was we would always have a long weekend around our anniversary even though we’re in Florida, doing an outdoor ceremony. Guests may be miserable for a couple minutes, but in the long run our anniversary matters more to us.


Also, the majority of the people coming to our wedding (95%) had to travel (some from overseas) so doing it on a long weekend helped people use it as an excuse for a mini vacay! It made it more feasible for some people to come.

We are having ours on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Venues are generally cheaper on Sundays and it gives us Saturday to rehearse and relax then Monday is a holiday so guest can stay late Sunday night and not worry about work.

My son's wedding is on Sunday before Labor Day and everyone is excited they have that extra day and not have to rush back home.

I'm getting married September 3rd reception is right after ceremony. I have a ton of RSVP. I say Go for it girl! Congratulations

It’s your day who cares when you do it. Do what’s best for you. (That is what I told myself… because that was the only weekend that was good for me and my fiancé)

I am getting married on September 3rd because we planned it and completely forgot about Labor Day lol! A lot of people will be off on that following Monday so it actually worked out really well for us! They get a 3 day weekend so why not party it up at a beautiful reception!!

I am having a reception on Labor Day weekend 9/3/2022. No I don’t think it’s a bad idea it’s all family time. It’ll be easier for family to plan some already have this time off. My opinion and for us it worked out prefect.
