I priced out a buttercream cake at Publix. My reception will have a Max of 70 people. The cake came to $370 including delivery. I want a very simple cake but wanted to price out a tiered cake. My local bakery who makes great cakes were $250 cheaper but they don't do tiers and don't deliver. This...

My local bakery who makes great cakes were $250 cheaper but they don't do tiers and don't deliver. This would mean doing a dessert table with 3 cake stands. Anyone tried Sam's club? Prices? This just doesn't seem like the bargain it used to be.

Why not order 3 cakes in the three tier sizes you would like and purchase the stands from hobby lobby to mount them yourself....its really not hard and it would make your cake way for affordable.

I think I might have to go that route. I found some cute cake stands that were on sale.

I know,,,it's crazy. I originally was looking into getting a 3 tier cake from Publix, but would cost $500. Now I'm thinking 2 tier, and a dessert table.
