Homemade bridal buddy

Salgirl, on May 23, 2017 at 6:54 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Shout out to my amazing sister for spending her afternoon helping me make a homemade version of the bridal buddy. It was a little trial and error and didn't come out perfect but it will definitely get the job done. I would recommend all the brides out there look into getting ( or making, if your able to) one of these for the wedding day. I know it's gonna make things just a little easier for me on Saturday.

I found sheer lightweight fabric at a fabric store and also bought thin elastic for the waist. Basically made it like a skirt after taking my measurements. Used bias tape for the arm holes and drawstring at the bottom. It didn't come out perfect, a little shorter than we intended and had to add in an extra panel because I have a booty and we didn't really account for that initially. But overall I'm very happy with the result and I tested it out and it works. Posting a pic of our finished product. Don't mind the green bias tape, we had to use what we had available.

What's a bridal buddy? This is the first time I've heard of it.

Do you have a picture with it on? I'm having a hard time picturing this, but it seems like a cool idea.

@rachelle it's basically something that you wear under your gown to help you gather it up and not get messed up when you need to pee

Sit on the toilet backwards. Works great. No need to add more material under your dress.

You guys, I have a moderate level of anxiety regarding using the restroom in my dress. I'm worried the bustle will be too big, even when sitting backwards.
