Honest opinions on hair trial, please?

I got my hair trial done today by my brother in law’s sister. She works at a salon and she’s a “relative” so pricing is only $40 for trial and $50 for the day of hair. I am going for a look I found in Pinterest. See last photo at the bottom for comparison. I asked my sisters for honest opinions and...

I got my hair trial done today by my brother in law’s sister. She works at a salon and she’s a “relative” so pricing is only $40 for trial and $50 for the day of hair.


I am going for a look I found in Pinterest. See last photo at the bottom for comparison. I asked my sisters for honest opinions and they said it looks nice but flat...which I agreed...they’d said it might help if: 1. Fuller curls, maybe extensions would help and tighter curls...2. More volume on top of my hair at the crown3. Maybe subtle highlights to bring out the curls because my hair is so black. Maybe like a dark dark brown.
Do you guys agree? I might have to do another trial because I feel like it’s lacking.
Aso, I don’t know why but my hair looks kinda frizzy. =\. cfb_1356427.jpg

    Its a little flat towards the top and the curls are more like spirals. I would see if they can some how make the curls stand out better and see if they can also make it more volume some how

    The girl in the Pinterest picture is for sure wearing extensions (or she has the thickest hair on the planet). But 9 times of 10, all the professional pictures on Pinterest have extensions in for thickness and for length. If you can afford clip ins, I'd get those.

    Just bought some extensions! I don't know why but she told me that she didn't use finishing hair spray and volumize the top but will on my wedding day. I feel if it's a trial you should have it look exactly like it'll be on the wedding day. She said she'll do the full look for me a second time. Anyway, I'll update everyone on how she does with a second session. I'm hoping by next weekend after I receive the extensions. I am searching for a backup experienced professional ($100ish) if it fails lol.

    She did my hair before as a bridesmaid and my curls were definitely more curly and volumized so I don't know why she used a big barrel for curling.

    Maybe you can suggest she use texturizing spray too for volume and back comb more?
