Yep, I spent a long time on a calm, thorough negative review of my venue, and it has since disappeared. My venue has a “5 star rating” on WeddingWire which is utter crap. I gave them a 1 star review but it was taken down. Makes me wonder how many other negative reviews were taken down. It’s very misleading for people looking to book there, thinking everyone has rated 5 stars when clearly they haven’t...

Wedding wire has not responded to any of my messages. So aggravating! I agree, it makes you wonder if these reviews are honest, and if they just "hide" the negative ones entirely!

I mean, it stinks lol, but we had an awesome wedding entirely in spite of our venue just behaving in a highly unprofessional way and treating us like second class citizens the entire process. And I didn’t get any message when the review was taken or anything, I just noticed it had disappeared at some point 😤 it wasn’t even a particularly nasty review or anything. I literally just listed the objective facts of what they had done. It actually took me like 6 months after my wedding to finally be calm enough about it to write an objective, emotionless account of what had happened to go in my review. So like, I worked very very hard to just make it factual and not just nasty ranting or anything.

That is terrible! Makes me wonder how many other vendors are out there who aren’t what they appear to be on here. They pay wedding wire to advertise them so I’m sure that’s apart of their deal.

That’s terrible! I’ve heard that happening on Yelp but I’m very disappointed in WW to hear that.

This has me worried about reading reviews on WW now of they are editing out the negatives completely.

Oh my that's terrible. I would look at other platforms to rate them and also posting it in your social media and tagging them in it to warn other brides! this helps so it won't be removed because you have freedom of speech and just because your words are not to the liking of their ears shouldn't mean that they should delete your post. Instead of humbling themselves and apologizing for it and learning so they don't make these mistakes again. So sad.

I certainly hope that’s not the case. However, I wouldn’t be surprised at all, since nearly all of the vendors had 4.5 ⭐️ or 5 ⭐️ . I didn’t trust it and, therefore, didn’t hire anyone via WW. My guess is that, with too many negative reviews, a vendor might pull their advertising from the site... and WW definitely doesn’t want to lose money. Although WW is a wedding business, it’s not all love. I mean, they’re still a for profit business and desire to remain a top wedding planning app. So WW needs to hook the brides into booking the vendors, so that the vendors keep advertising.

View Quoted Comment I guess I understand that, but is a bummer for sure. My advice to any new brides, is do your research!! And sort reviews, even on other platforms. You can filter to see only the lowest or most recent. Definitely use that tool!!

Damn. That's been my thought about rating my caterer. He so dropped the ball. The cake was wrong (he "forgot" the flavor even though he had a mini version at our tasting) and I didn't even get a dinner because,even though I wanted vegetarian, I told him "I hate cauliflower steaks, and I can't digest them." Guess what was on my plate? And undercooked (to the point of being raw) brussels sprouts

I’m sorry you aren’t able to leave the review you want to leave. I’d recommend leaving your review on other platforms for sure. I hope brides are taking the time to look at all possible platforms for reviews of venders. I noticed that while google or Facebook has a ton of reviews of some of the vendors on WW, the reviews here would only be like 2 or 3. That seemed odd to me so I just stopped looking at the WW reviews and looked for them other places.

That's strange that your review disappeared! I recommend posting it on multiple other sites - The Knot, Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc. I would imagine that the review would stay up on at least one of those sites.

Yea i was wondering how all these vendors have 4-5 stars u never see less. one venue has all 4.3-4.7 stars and all the reviews listed were 5 stars! makes you wonder
