Honey moon fund

Cassandra, on February 19, 2020 at 10:15 PM Posted in Account Support 1 8

I have put a deposit down on a honeymoon package, how do i set up a honeymoon fund on my registry for a package I've already purchased? Or can i link the resort to my wedding website?

At this point the honeymoon fund then would just be to give you cash to use for the honeymoon. You can set one up via Zola

Watch what you choose, some charge you to do so. We're not doing the gift thing, just hoping for money to go towards the wedding

Thats been the challenge, how do i respectfully ask for no gifts. I have been with my fiance for almost 5 years so i dont really need anything.
I thought about setting up the gift table with a honeymoon fund box that says "help send us off in style"

If you have no registry, most people will take the hint that you don’t want anything. Some will still want to give you something, so they will show up with check or check at reception (or mail it beforehand). I’ve see many weddings have a (sometimes locked but always watched over by a family member) “money chest” for people to drop cards with checks, envelopes with cash and well wishes, etc in at the reception. I’ve dropped those off myself sometimes if I have cash and want to avoid the 2.5% CC fee for online honeymoon funds.

Currently, our honeymoon fund is the only thing in our registry. If I have time a month before the wedding, I might add some physical items to the registry because you get 20% off items that are not purchased after your wedding date. That way I can buy them myself if I feel like it. I love buying fancy kitchen appliances and tools!! Even tho I’m starting to run out of space for them.

Thank you for the suggestion I have been fretting over weather I should put things on my registry just in case people do decide to get me things anyway. I'm glad to know i have a forum to reach out if i have questions.

I'm just making a note of it on my wedding website. I mean if someone gives me something, then great. but everyone ive talked to who has done the same, has had no issues with people just giving money

Hi Cassandra! You can paste a link to any registry information on the text box of your Registry Page. You can also create a Wedding Blog page type if you would prefer to have just a text box instead of the registry item preview box. If you have any trouble with this, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support Team at help@weddingwire.com and we would be happy to assist you!
