Alex, on October 18, 2019 at 3:43 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 9

No need to get upset, just politely ask her to take it down.

Yeah, that's really not her place to do that. That is something that you and your future spouse need to decide about whether or not you want that.

I mean, maybe she means well, and is just excited for you guys, and wants to help. But this can be seen as greedy and tacky, and if you didn't decide to do it, it should come down.

I'm really curious as to why she thought this was ok.

I would just politely ask her to take it down. I'd actually have FH tell her to take it down since his sister did it.

I would be irked too. Ask her politely to take it down as PPs suggested. She has no reason to keep it up if you tell her you don't want one

Just a thought . . . you have to have a bank account linked in order to set up a honeymoon fund in most cases. Does she have it linked to your account or hers? What if someone donated thinking that the money goes to you but it is really going into her pocket?

That is...weird. I’d just ask to have her take it down (or ask— is it your future spouse’s sister? I might make them ask instead !)
