Honey moon help instead of items

Is there a "good" way to ask for honeymoon help instead of items?

There really isn't. Just don't register for gifts (or register for a very small amount of gifts). Your guests will likely get the message and gift you cash.

Additionally, though; no one is completely entitled to a honeymoon, so I don't recommend booking something you're not able to pay for right away. Perhaps wait until after your wedding to plan something if you're looking to use the money you're gifted from the wedding.

You have your honeymoon idea you can provide a link to where people could purchase certain things for the honeymoon. For example, a friend of mine was basically having a cruise / wedding and she gave the option of buying liquor, massages, Etc... For people to purchase since you basically had to go on the cruise to attend the wedding since she wasn't having one in the states on land rather on an island. I think there is a honeymoon fund but I'm not too sure about that. I would say that if someone asked you specifically what can they get you maybe suggest that they put it towards your honeymoon but I kind of agree with the pp in that if you want a honeymoon you both should be prepared to at least pay for the accommodations and the flight and maybe little things while you are there such as money towards a dinner or an Excursion can be what others provide money towards.

Skip the registry and use whatever cash gifts you receive for a honeymoon.

Have you checked out honeyfund.com? That’s what we are going to do instead of a registry!

We did but briefly. it looked like you have to pick your destination and also travel very soon after the wedding. I have to do more research on it to figure it all out.

All honeyfunds charge a percentage of what your guests give and your guests are not actually buying you specific activities -- the websites are just set up to look like they are actually buying you something specific. For those and other reasons, many find them kind of tacky and deceitful. Just don't register and most guests will give you cash without any "middleman fees" or deceitful practices, and no risk of offending anyone! It's a win-win-win to do nothing!

There isn't a polite way to ask for money, and I wouldn't advise a honeyfund for reasons PPs have already mentioned

I was thinking of doing a honeyfund, a friend of mine got married earlier this year and set up a honeyfund but said they mostly got cash gifts and other gifts they didn’t ask for. Still super grateful of the gifts and money they received but in her experience it looked like people either disregarded the cash fund and felt more comfortable giving them the cash or gifts they thought they needed. They worded it very nicely in the description of it, some people did give but it was mostly family. Specific cash funds seem like a better option IMO, for experiences or dining, because it’s more specific to what the money would be used for and people might be more comfortable with knowing where it was going. I’ve been back and forth about it in my personal experience so far.

I did travelersjoy.com and also registered for just a very few things at target in order to subtly get our desires across!

I personally just wouldn't register and use the cash for the honeymoon..

but i saw that target does like a honeymoon fund thing. so i would check etsy or pinterest for some cute insert cards if you wanted to ask.
