Honeyfund Shower question

Devin, on September 17, 2017 at 3:02 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 23

I'm going to a shower for a friend in a few weeks. She registered at Zola and the only things left on her registry are really expensive. You can contribute to a group gift, contribute to "home renovations" or contribute to their honeymoon fund. I know how people on this forum feel about those kinds of things BUT I'm probably going do one of those things anyway.

My question is, if I contribute to one of those funds, what do I bring to the actual shower? I feel too weird going empty handed.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

If you contribute to a group gift, just bring a card to the shower.

Zola notifies them as soon as something is purchased or paid towards the activity portion. They'll know as soon as you do it. Just bring a card and write a note "enjoy your honeymoon! cant wait to see pictures!" or "good luck on your renovations, let me know if i can help!"

I'd probably get her a physical gift or a gift card to a home improvement store. I would personally not contribute to a honeyfund.

I second the idea of getting a gift card to a home improvement store. It would likely be very useful for them.

I'd just write a check or include cash in the card.

I would rather put cash in a card or the gift card as Hannah mentioned.

I would just bring a card with reference to the gift like ambrok suggested. That's what I have done in the past and it seems to work.

I'm not one to choose gifts for other people based on my own preferences.

If you are just going to contribute to the fund then like PPs said, just bring a card. But I would recommend you just put a check in the card instead of through the website so that way they can use it for what they want and you know they get the full amount that you wanted to give them.

I would personally bring a card with a check in it and put "enjoy your honeymoon!" Or something about the home renovations on the memo line or in the card. And then maybe do a little inexpensive keepsake gift like someone gave me a personalized handkerchief with our names and date, another gave a mug with our names and wedding date....someone else gave these adorable "love bird" themed kitchen towels from anthropologie, etc.

Buy her a gift that you think she would like. Registries are guidelines, not rules.

I'm not sure if Zola takes a fee out if you make a monetary contribution. If it does you should 1000% get them a gift card to a home improvement store or any other store that would assist in their plans for renovations.

Lowe's has super cute gift cards for weddings. You could pick up a tape measure, a hammer, some paint brushes, handyman aprons, or whatever other small home tools you think they'd like to put in a box/basket so there's something for her to open!

I just gave a card with honey fund receipt and check with honeymoon on memo line. I decorated the card with fake flower "bow"

Personally I like giving physical gifts at showers. I would probably put together the basket with home renovations items in it. I would also throw in an HGTV magazine or something saying that I got the couple a year's subscription or something of that nature.

I would do a card, or put money in the card. I would not want to come empty handed.

I would do the card idea. If that's what they really want, but gift cards are awesome too!
