Honeymoon cost

I just started pricing out what was supposed to be a cheaper honeymoon trip for us and realized how expensive it was going to be. How much are you all spending on your honeymoon?

Hi Alison! When is your honeymoon? Also, have you booked any previous trips through Sandals? Thank you in advance. I have no idea where to start looking😅🥲

I haven’t, but my friends have done multiple and they were the ones who recommended it! They said it was great. We are going end of May, leaving the 24th for 7 days! And I looked at the cost again, it was $4700 total for the 7 days and airfare with the upgraded room, honeymoon package, insurance, and the ride to and from the airport!

We won't know the actual total until we go on and get back from the honeymoon, but I can't see it costing any more than $1.5K for us. We booked an Air B'n'B cabin in Big Bear Lake, CA for 5 days and 4 nights for $628. We're driving there and gas to get us there and back, plus a little more for traveling within the area will likely be around $250. We'll go out to eat a few times, but are also planning to buy food to make at the cabin making food costs probably under $300. Most of the activities (hiking, kayaking/swimming in the lake, hot tub at the cabin, each other Smiley sexy ) are free, so we don't anticipate many costs outside of lodging/gas/food. There's a zoo and a couple ropes course we may check out, but even those are pretty cheap (about $15 per person). So yeah, ours will definitely be on the cheaper end.

Wow! That really is such a great deal. I am going to check them out and see if we are lucky enough to get something for that price the end of August. Thank you so much for replying 😄.

We are heading to Santa Barbara for 4 nights and it's going to run us around $3000. half of that is lodging, the flights are free through miles, and the rental car is $300. We will probably rent some bikes, do some fancy dinners, go trail running, and definitely do a wine tour!

I actually live in BZN near Yellowstone, if you have any questions or need recommendations/ itinerary help I can try! I know camping isn't glamorous, but it could be a good way to save some money and I know of some really sweet spots! Adventure van could be a really cool honeymoon instead of hotels, too.

That's how we feel too! We were thinking of booking a nice hotel up in Bar Harbor Maine to visit Acadia but the cost with activities and food will be around what we would spend for an all inclusive + flight to Cancun or the Dominican.

We’re probably going to end up spending around $10,000 because we want to go to Bora Bora. I realize that’s suuuper expensive but we’re going to save by not doing certain things like not buying real flowers or a fancy cake for our wedding. We’re also going to ask guests for honeymoon money instead of gifts!

We are looking at doing our honeymoon in Riviera Maya and it’s going to be ~6-8K depending on the resort we stay at. That includes flights and it being all inclusive. We’re deciding between a romantic getaway or an adventure packed one. We went to Mexico two summers ago and my fiancé’s favorite part was Xel -Ha. I figured why not stay at Hotel XCaret Arte (adult only) and get the All Fun Inclusive so we can do any and all parks, and have food and drinks included.. it’d be too spendy w his kids so may make the most of our honeymoon.

Hey if no one answered you all we are doing all inclusive as well you don’t pay a penny for anything! Not meals not drinks(most cases) and not for activities. It changes a little bit but the place we are going the only way we would need to spend money is tipping and/or if you go off property for any reason like golfing or horseback riding. They have beach all there own and all the rentals you need free!

It's been awhile, but do you mind sharing the name of your hotels/where in Greece?

Sorry just seeing this. We stayed at Pegasus Suites in Santorini for our "fancy" half of the honeymoon. I can't remember the name of the budget hotel but can look it up later
